About Me

I live in Nyamira County Nyagokiani Location near Nyagokiani Secondary School at the junction with Chaina Primary school, Plot Number NM/ 314.
I am the family head of two daughters and two sons. After High School I joined the Military after where I trained locally and overseas as a Weapons Technician. on getting out following 1982 Military Disturbance i opted to work in the farm. on the almost 3 Acre farm we grow Mature tea bushes, Bananas, and raise chicken for own consumption and market. We have also built a brick house that we wish to use as the village internet Connectivity center. With the proceeds from the Farm that is about Ksh 150,000 per a year, we buy farm inputs, fodder and spend the rest on school fees and paying household bills.

My Business

wife and I work our Ancestral Land measuring about 3 Acres. On this we grow our food that we also sell in the village Market and have about 2000 bushes of tea. We raise chicken for the Market. in the newly build brick house we have the outlet for our produce. Our expansion plan is to have a village internet connectivity centre. With which we can impact our marketing plans. In a good month we make up to Ksh 20000 and spend almost Ksh 25 000 - 30, 000. I make the difference through freelancing as a debt collector for banks, Hospitals and Financial institutions. With our position being on a busy junction we have an advantage over our competitors. If we set up the the resource center we shall benefit all the community.

Loan Proposal

First I wish to thank the Zidisha family for this chance to borrow KES 40 000. I believe this money shall go a long way to purchase stock for our green grocer and fix the doors to our new Brick house. We shall also add a few new chicken to our egg laying chicken. This way we shall have started our road to progress. We have (my wife and I) taken precautions in laying aside in the bank a sum of money as the reserve funds in case some unforeseen circumstances cause negative hindrances.
thanks again.

My dear lenders and the Zidisha family, greetings. Things have started to improve and I have learnt that surely the Zidisha community is reliable and patient. I was fearing for the unknown and every time the day approached I did everything with fear and trembling to raise the installment. When I couldn't I relaxed and accepted the inevitable. I am able to repay and I hope the job assignment I have taken in Mombasa stays. thanks again my TRUE ANGELS on earth. Brother John Musevu is a good advisor.

I have seen some positive development in my business. I shall pay Ksh 1000 monthly then Reschedule so as to be current by July the 10th. Likewise schools closing for April break,in Kenya, will allow me a wider space to tackle the challenge of being current and step up my VM obligations of impacting the community with Zidisha support.

Dear my honored Lenders and the Zidisha team,
I am writing to let you know that I am grateful you assisted me to get practical support and raising me to a position I could not have attained without your input. For this I am for ever grateful. However, a number of difficulties I am facing as a person and family have kept my business down to the extent that I have not been able to re-pay in time, follow up as a Volunteer Mentor (assignments, in my own view, I carried out in devotion and excellence) and at the same time support my family. the beginning of my problems started with illness where my wife and I were taken ill and for almost one full month we were bedridden. When we started to regain healthiness, we had exhausted our meager stock and savings and, were in debt. The business was down. It has been an uphill task to recover. My side jobs as a freelancer debt collector and detective which requires traveling and self marketing were far out of my reach. So what to I do? Ask my borrowers for more patience until after the Christmas season when there is money during the festivities.
You have been kind to me before and I do not have a doubt you will be kind again.
Thanking you in advance for allowing me to use your hard earned money and wishing you blessing from above, so that what I can not give you directly you may receive indirectly in other terms.

Dear Zidisha Team and my Lenders,
Thanks for patience during my down days. I have fully recovered and look forward to continue repayment. The busyness is on low because of the period we closed. I shall need an extra two months to have it revived especially during the December season when business is at peck. I shall then, hopefully, make for delayed payment. The little I am making now is for survival basic needs.
    Thanks again for understanding.

My dear lenders and the entire ZIDISHA FAMILY, greetings. I am this morning most elated for the far the Zidisha loan has taken my family. For one the grocer business has improved and the new house has doors fixed. This assistance has made the whole community desire to be involved and we are doing our best to hold Computer literacy classes so that more people are able to access this financial support program. I am already envisioning the next loan that I shall use to buy hardware for the computer classes and internet connectivity. May God bless you as you support more people worldwide to achieve their dreams

My dear lenders, thanks again for being such good nature people. I have paid my first installment and I wish you saw me today, all relaxed and i believe gained 1 kilo overnight for having sound sleep. At one time I was almost panicking when things were not going as per my postulation. I had expected to put in money and get out more money. It turned out that the fixing of doors was consuming more money and time so that what I expected in terms of revenue turned out to be farther afield than I expected. So I rescheduled repayment plan. I had worked for a security firm: Max Security Ltd in Mombasa and when they delayed my pay check for a whole month and I was eating and borrowing to keep afloat I started fearing for a demand note from Zidisha lenders! As if that was not enough I lost my phone - the tool for communication and the cyber cafe imply an expense. But thank God they bore with me. Three months down the road, the crops in the village have ripened, "IT HUB" has doorsthe debts are being paid and we can all smile. This is to thank you. I also have good news to announce, my book: Biblical Wisdom in Abagusii Proverbs (published by Nsemia Inc of Toronto Canada), is rolling out of the printing press right now. A google search can confirm. So I am very excited. Thanks again and join me to sing for joy together.
    Stay well'

Lenders and the Zidisha Community, I wish to underline hat I was not able to meet my first pledge because my clients delayed my due payments. I know how disheartening this is but i do not have a choice. Do bear with me because I am a leader who need to lead by example. At a time when there are many discouraging trends that I followup, I hope to make for the shortfall.

My lenders and the Zidisha team, i am sorry but, satisfied that I am a Zidisha beneficiary. I put the Money I received in proper use and fixed my New building's doors. Now there is a delay in payment from the people I have already invoiced. I wish to reschedule but if the money comes into my account before the new date, then i will still clear and catch up with lost time.

    Hi Shem,
Just checking in. All is going well? When will you have an idea about seriousness of the elder talk? Please give me an update some time. I told my husband we should consider a trip to Kenya and he has already packed his luggage. If all the lenders repay their loans and I save for the next three years, I would have enough money if I stayed away from Nairobi, the safaris and the resorts. I'm seriously thinking about it now that you put the idea in my head.
    Best regards, Ann

      Hello,
I am very glad to have the chance to post on my loan page. First is to explain why I have kept silent and I am now back. For one, I had to run very fast so that I would utilize the grace period well. The places I was doing business do not have internet connectivity and my mobile browser is quite limited I am now back. I have fixed my now house and feel very happy. My wife thinks that I am the most progressive man - not many husbands get internet loans in this part of thge world- computer savvy. That said, Ann tell your husband that I am a respected village elder and the idea of you comping to Kenya is welcome. Would you consider staying in our village? We can get you good piece of land bordering our tea firm and where there is electricity and by the road. You shall like it. Fresh water fish in plenty. Trips to lake Victoria for swimming daily and come back to refresh and watch the village life. Here the people are friendly and you could write memoirs, or volunteer to teach in Secondary school nearby or organize the locals into Project minded Africans.

    Hi Shem,
How is my favorite gardener doing? Easter and Spring is a time of rebirth and new beginnings. Your loan news is a great way to celebrate. Just watch out for those weeds and temptations.
Best wishes for you and your hard-working wife, Ann
