About Me

My story
I am a 24 year old Kenyan who recently graduated from Maseno university with a bachelor’s degree in business management. I have always looked forward to having my business and to be my own boss.
I grew up in Manyatta estate in Kisumu. I wouldn’t really call it a slum. My mother sold fish so that we could go to school. As for my father I never really knew what sort of job he did, he used to wake up and after breakfast he could leave and arrive late and extremely drunk. I grew up to hate alcohol.
Every evening my mother used to lock us in the second room in our two room house which we referred to as the bed room. My father quarreled each evening for the 5 years I knew him. He could beat up my mother daily as I listened. My younger siblings couldn’t rally understand what the problem was. Our father never paid a single cent for our school fees. He spent all his money in alcohol and chewing khat.
I later knew my father was a tout in the main bus terminus earning money depending on the number of passengers he brought on board. It was a pathetic life and as we grew up our mother didn’t want us to watch things our father did. They separated when we were young and I cannot recall his face even now. We relocated to Nairobi where our mother sold water to sustain our family and pay our school fees. It Is for that reason that I worked hard in school to make my mother proud. Now that I recently graduated from university I can only thank God the almighty. I want to make a difference. I am here for a purpose, I’m here to rule. I salute my mother.

My Business

MY BUSINESS
My mother educated us by selling fish in Kisumu city. I always told her I would one time make millions in the same business she did. She encouraged me to work hard in school to know how to do business.
Fish is a popular source of protein among the urban class of nakuru region. There however lack supply of fresh fish since there is no fresh water lake or river around. Due to the available market and demand I have decided to exploit the niche and grow myself as the biggest distributor of fresh fish around. The money I get as profit I will empower my mother to restart her business as a fish monger as I will always supply her with fresh and good quality fish. I will also sensitize the society on advantages of having white meat as compared to read meat. Recent research show that red meat when consumed in large quantity causes cancer and also arthritis I old age.
Fish is a good source of white meat and a healthy nation is a wealthy nation. I plan to buy fingerlings from the fisheries ministry since I have already constructed two fish ponds for a start. I will formulate the meal for fish since I have taken short courses on fish rearing.
I will then supply hotels ranging from small ones to five star hotels. I will create a website to advertise my products and major on fish production only. I will repay my loan from the small earnings I get by writing term papers to students and freelancing online.
In a few years iam targeting to start a fish parlour in the heart of nakuru city which will serve as a restaurant as well.

Loan Proposal

I am intending to buy fingerlings from the fisheries ministry and then put them in my two fish ponds which are now ready. each fingerling goes for around 0.5 dollars and i am intending to start with 100 fingerlings which will cost me 50 dollars.
by starting a fish farm i will benefit myself financially and satisfy my desire for entrepreneurship.i will also be able to empower my mother in her fish mongering business.
i am intending to start a restaurant in town and i believe starting as a framer supplying other hotels will help me grow as an individual. i will benefit other people by making sure there is availability of whit meat in fish which is also rich in proteins. i believe a healthy nation will boost Kenya's economy.
i am expecting a total 300 dollars in revenue but my expenses will be around 130 dollars when i pick up in 3 months. i will re invest the profit to grow my firm. i however have alternative means to repay the loan through my income as a freelancer.
