My name is Sandra Wesonga. I was born in Busia County and attended Burumba Primary School. I later joined St. Joseph's Chakol Secondary School for my O-level. I passed well and was admitted to Egerton University, but had to defer my studies due to lack of finances. Since my parents are peasant farmers, they could not support my university education.
After deferring my studies, I had to get sources of income. With no capital, I secured a loan from a friend that I used to start a fish business. This business involves buying fish in wholesale and reselling it in retail.
I play hockey during my free time. Apart from that, I read novels and seasonally blog.
My business involves selling fish. I buy fish in bulk and retail it to my established clients. I usually buy already-fried tilapia fish.
Fish is one of the main source of protein, an alternative to red meat. Since most people are health-conscious, they prefer fish to red meat and that makes the demand for fish to be even higher.
I chose these business because it was profitable and needed little capital to start; since I had only $40, it was a perfect beginning for me. I usually spend $100 on daily basis to buy fish for resale. I make a profit of between $10-$15 daily; in a month my average profit is $200.
I use the money for paying my university fees so that I can start pursuing my degree in literature in September this year. I also pay fees for my brother Nicholas who is doing his final examinations this year.
Dear lenders, I am kindly requesting you to advance me an $100 loan to help me buy a frying pan for fish. I currently buy already-fried fish, which is very expensive. I intend to start buying fresh fish and deep fry it myself in a good, clean environment before supplying it to my clients. The cost for the pan is $150, but I will top up the balance from my savings to acquire the pan.
Looking forward to your support, thank you.
