About Me

My names are Martha Nduta I was born in Arash, which is a location in Subukia sub-county in the Rift Valley province in Kenya. I went to primary and later secondary school still in the village. Being the first born in a family of five children, life was not easy. Sometimes l could be forced to stay out of school and help my parents cultivate our neighbors gardens so as to put food on the table. Unfortunately, my father passed on while we were still in primary school. Despite all these, l managed to complete my studies. On completing school, I hustled for about two months, then l got a casual job in a hotels around and started helping my mother in my siblings education. I started saving for my future. On the second year, l managed to buy a potato chips cutting machine which l used to cut chips and cook for my client in my own hotel . l felt good because l was earning something. I now manage my small hotel which i need to expand due to customers request.

My Business

In my hotel I do cook the traditional foods and chips which have a proved to be quite good as potrayed by the flow of customers. More customers prefer my place because ofthe hygiene and also i offer good services which are pocket friendly. I choose this kind of a business as i saw the customers who are young bodaboda rider had a need of lunch which was not available at the place. The cost of operation is as follows daily cost of Tradition foods Kshs. 1500 and for the chips I spend Kshs. 1100 which total to daily expense of Kshs. 2600. and monthly house rent of Kshs. 1000. With this i generate an approximate of Kshs. 3200 for the food and Kshs. 2500 giving a total revenue of Kshs. 5700 daily. When i less the cost am able to get Kshs. 3100 profit daily. with this profit i use it to pay for my kids fees and at the end of the month am able to pay for my one employee at a cost of Kshs. 6000 and the house monthly rent & bills at Kshs. 1300.

Loan Proposal

I would like to request this loan so as to buy a modern chips cooking jiko. The last funding I used to increase the stock and this made me to have more customers which called for a modern Jiko so as to cook efficiently and a lower cost. The Jiko will cost me Ksh. 9,000.
