About Me

I am Anthony Ngugi ndungu from juja farm. I hail from a family of 6 where am the first born. My parents are casual workers in farms around my village where they earn very little just for our daily upkeep. I went to school in public school since my childhood as it was cheap and affordable to my parent though we had to struggle. With the help of government bursaries and well-wishers I was able to finish my high school and got good grades that enabled me to join university under government sponsorship. Due to inability of my parents to sustain me in university I started a small business around my school where I retail food to my school during lunch and this enables me to pay the small fees required by the school and for my own upkeep. My business have been struggling due to lack of enough capital to expand it as every profit I use it for my upkeep and support of other family members.

My Business

I started my business back in 2011 when I joined campus immediately after joining university due to hardships I was going through. My business is retailing fast food to my school mates during break time and lunch. Due to high cost of food in Nairobi hotels students cannot afford the meals hence my business takes advantage of this to sell them at subsidized prices. This is because I don’t incur any rental expenses as I cook the food in my room and transport them during break time and lunch when I sell all of. The business has been doing well and has grown in number of customers as more students joined the university to an extent am unable to meet their demand. The urge to expand my business is what have led to request the loan.

Loan Proposal

I will use the money as follows, buy utensils at 15 dollars, buy a bigger jiko at 20 dollars, increase the number of benches for sitting with 20dollars, and buy a canvas tent for covering my customers from the sun and rain at 20 dollars and employ two waiter at 25. This will help my business grow with approximately 25% in the first phase of my loan. It will also help me improve the services I offer to my clients as well as create more employment to more youths in my school.
