About Me

I am Jack N. Ogolla, I grew up in a tiny village called Kanyipola in Awasi Location Kisumu County. I the second born from a family of 8 children, my mother is a peasant farmer subsidising with small scale business of selling groceries.
My childhood as of many children during my time was not an easy one, my parents were not earning sufficiently from their economic activities. Despite all the odds, I managed to go through high school, after which I joined Strathmore business school to study CPA.

I am a financial expert aspiring to be a small business holder. I have over ten years working as a Financial Accountant in various SME's and multinational organizations.

I have put up several business plans some of which have started to pick up , whereas other depending on the financial availability will form quite lucrative ventures which will help create employment for the young generation as well as ensuring a better life for my family in the future. One which is closer to my heart is the establishment of a chain of retail outlets for commodities under the Franchise name that I have registered in most of the urban dwelling estates which are increasingly opening up in Nairobi.
I am looking at bridging the gap between what the major supermarkets are not able to provide to the market during their early hours before official opening and late hours after the official working hours that most supermarkets operate.

My Business

I am having a Food cafe called Jaelin's food cafe specializing in selling special tea mostly for evening meetings and other foods for the business owners in my locality. I have run this business since October 2011 and currently am employing three staff members who work on a full time basis and occasionally two more casual staff when the market is busy . I am looking at expanding this business to a full time hotel due to customer loyalty and strategic locality in which we are located.

Loan Proposal

I need the Loan to increase my stock for Sugar and Milk supply for quality and prompt provision of speciality tea just the way my customers like. This will ensure that I do not run out of these essential ingredients that keep my customers coming back every day.
My profitability increase % is expected to go up by up to 35% profitability in period by which I am expecting to clear loan repaymemt

I have experienced a surge in customer attending my tea cafeteria and the extra amount I have received in this period I wish to make six instalments in advance so that I can plan the next income for the next objective in improving the quality of service and product that we supply to my customers.

Just as I expected, when I applied for the current loan I needed to keep my stock of Milk and Sugar for my cafe in constant level, just to ensure that I do not disappoint the lovers of my special tea whenever they visit the cafe for their favourite beverage.
I can confess here this strategy has worked and we have experienced an increase in the number of patrons regularly stopping over for their favourite cap of tea our sales have doubled and we have topped up our level of tea mugs served per single day to a high of 456 mugs per day.
Our turnover has obviously doubled and for this reason we can clear our loan way beyond the targeted loan repayment period. One challenge we have had to put up with, not of the patrons are comfortable having their pictures taken without permission, but we are working on willing and accepting patrons who will accept that we display their picture while taking their favourite cup for Zidisha profile update, soon we are showing this for our community to witness this success story.
    Happy JNO

I woke up today in the morning and looked at my phone, there was a symbol for unread message, when I grabbed my phone and unlocked it, Vwalah! Mpesa message, the nicest thing to see when you lift yourself off the bed to step on the ground with confidence to know that you just got the loan disbursed. Zidisha made my Thursday, I worked whole day with vigour know that I have Zidisha always backing me whenever I am in need.
As a matter of principle, I have resolved to put in part of my profit increase from my tiny businesses to support Zidisha in helping more people in need as myself . I have to put my funds into the kitty of Loan funds.
    Thanks Great partners.

The first loan I received from Zidisha helped me to print my business cards for presentation to my clients who have been purchasing from my tyre accessories shop, previously I would meet a client who failed to come to make repeat purchase because they had either lost my contact details or just did no save my cell phone number properly to be ale to make contact later,
For now I offer my business cards that they slot into their wallets and can always get a hold of whenever they look through.
Sales have improved such that I at times run out of stock before close of a lucrative business day that would have otherwise turned more stock into sales.
Comfortably the printing of business cards did not adversely affect my working capital in the short time that I acquired the loan and ordered for cards.
Zidisha is not only the best but the only trustworthy financial partner.

    Dear Sir,
I wish to take this humble opportunity to appreciate your gesture of confidence in my little venture that I have for my esteemed Customers, I believe Jaelin Cafe is going to grow into a bigger and better place where more people can meet to get a good refreshment of Tea.
Even you will one time get a chance to reach here and get a taste of the truest flavor of tea just as my grandmother liked it.

I am now confidence that my supplier of Milk and Sugar will not have a reason to stop the supply of the ingredients that I specially need.
Thanks once more Mr Mark and Mr Daniel for this again.
    God Bless you.

I can now confirm that I have received my first loan as I requested, skeptics might want to think that Zidisha is just another net gimmick but I am here to prove to all my contacts and network pals that this for real.
I have now paid for print work for my business cards for my spares business. I am keen on keeping with my repayment schedule in order to qualify for a higher loan amount that can enable me do more.
    Thanks to Zidisha
