I am the second born in a family of 3 children.I went to Kogonye primary school and later joined Bulimo secondary for my secondary education,I went up to form and passed well . Unfortunately i got pregnant and my boy friend disowned me when i refused to abort. Being a young single mother .with no source of income ,i had to work extra hard to put food on the table. My parents were morally supportive, even though they didn't have the money.
I started selling dry fish to my fellow villages but it didint work since people could take fish on credit and fail to repay. I had to quickly get another viable option ,I was thinking of second hand cloths when members from Farm concern International visited our village. I was one of those who were thirsty for education and went for it.we were thought various benefits of farming and they even offered to give as a demonstration plot.I left the meeting rich in ideas but short of capital. I mobilized the little resources I had and started growing traditional African vegetables in a quarter plot that I had,the investment did not disappoint. I reinvested the money into the farm ,and I now own 3/4 acre farm and wishing to expand it to 3acres.
I have one child he is four years old she still does not know what she wants to be but I am working round the clock to let her grow in an environment that would be conducive to nurture her dreams.
I grow vegetables ,kale's,capsicum, traditional vegetables and cabbages depending on the season and sell them in the neighboring school and sell the surplus to the nearby market. the demand for vegetables is high due to rising population.
I choose these business after undergoing a three hour training that has changed my fortunes. I learnt the pros ans cons of agribusiness and was convinced that these was the best agribusiness to do.
In a month I spend an average $100 and my monthly revenues are $250. I use my profits to pay fees for my child, buy basics needs for myself and my parents and support my young brothers secondary education.
Thank you my dear lenders for your kindness and support. I am so grateful and thankful. I am kindly asking you to lend me$200 that I would use to buy a foot pump that I would use to irrigate my farm for healthy and quality produce all round the year irrespective of weather conditions. These would further increase my production during dry weather season and my revenues would increase. kindly support me,thank you.
