About Me

Hey
My name Is Risper, I am 22 years old.I am the second born among 5 children. I went to Yenga primary school and sega girls for secondary education. I was unable to complete my secondary education on time because of lack of fees but i dropped out worked as house girl and saved for school fees.I later went back and completed my secondary education. Due to lack of fees I have been unable to join college and I am currently a farmer.
I started farming three years a go, I grew vegetables and tomatoes with the help of my neighbor who is a farmer ,she mentored and guided me and That is how i gained experienced in crop handling and protection. My major challenge was capital because I lacked money for basic equipments and had to relay on neighbors to help me always. However with time I have been able to buy a few equipments and I am still expanding my venture.
I like farming and I spend a lot of time in my farming just watching over my crops to ensure nothing goes wrong. During my free time when not in the farm,I visit my young sister in school to encourage her. I also love watching movies and meeting new people.

My Business

I grow vegetables eg cabbages ,kale's and tomatoes in my garden and sale the produce to schools ,and hotels. I occasionally sale to individuals though the demand is always high and I have specific hotels I always supply my produce too. However when schools closed I always have surplus and sale it in the nearby market.
I choose farming business because it was the least capital intensive venture I could think of and it is also very sustainable and profitable.
My monthly typical costs for farm maintenance and production costs is average $150 and my monthly income average is $350 per month.
I use the money to reinvest in the business, pay fess for my young sister, and buy food and basics for our family.
