About Me

My names are Paul Ochieng .I am the last born among six children. My parents passed on when I was only three years old. I stayed with my elder brother from then. My elder brother struggled and took me to school. I managed to score good grades that granted me entry to the university. I am now a third year business administration student looking forward to graduating next year.
I started my agribusiness three years ago, my brother was financial constrained and could no longer support me. These threatened to get me out of college. I borrowed $50 from my brother and started farming, given that the college is not far from home, I could always attend to my crops then go to classes. I planted traditional African vegetables and sold them, I reinvest the whole $150 I got from the business in expansion. I can now pay my colleges fees from the business.
Our culture is diverse as a Luo community we have different sub tribes with different cultures. From our culture men remove six lower teeth as a right of passage and our main dish is fish.
I am a soccer fun and I love playing soccer and watching soccer during my free time. I am also a leader and currently I am the chairperson of my youth group as well as the class rep in my class.

My Business

I grow assorted high value horticultural vegetables both leafy as well as fruits and sell them to my fellow students, school and households in the neighborhood. The demand for the goods is high since the consumption rates are always very high and supply is low.
I choose to start farming business because it has potential for growth and the returns are very high. It is also easy to manage and needed relatively small capital to start.
My monthly typical costs are $100 and my monthly typical revenues are $350. I mainly use my money to pay my college fees , buy gifts for my nieces and nephews, contribute to my church and reinvest in the business through purchase of equipment and technology adoption.

Loan Proposal

Dear sir/madam
I am kindly requesting you to finance my loan so that I am able to buy a foot pump ,to replace my old hand pump. The foot pump will help me to water my farm more faster and with greater efficiency. I will benefit from the pump in terms of better produce and more time to study . The better produce will then give me more revenues. Thank you in advance.
