About Me

My names are Joseph Okoth. I went to Mundika primary school and Mundika secondary school both found in western Kenya. I am the second born in our family .
I dropped out of secondary school at second year after my father lost his job due to retrenchment in a flower farm. This he was aged and had no formal education he could not find another job. The future was so much uncertain and I did not know what to do. In the year 2012 my mum succumbed to breast cancer, with jobless father and no mom life become unbearable. I thought of committing suicide but I knew that was not the solution,I knew other boys like me were in far much worse situation than mine.
In the 2013 a friend come to our place and told me there was a man in the neighborhood who wanted a farm hand with no option left I took the job immediately, life was equally unbearable ,too much work ,but the fact that i could get three meals a day kept me holding to the job. My boss who was a ugandan left the country to go back home, once again I was jobless in early 2014 but with lots of experience on horticultural crops management. I was determined to be self employed and with my savings i prepared 3/4 acre of land and planted cabbages and sukuma week (kale's) since i already knew the demand was very high for the two crops. After three months I was not disappointed with my work because it paid off well.
I am a football player and soccer fun, during my free time I play football or watch the game.

My Business

I am a commercial farmer ,I plant cabbages and kale's in my farm. The main good sare provide to the market are fresh vegetables to my clients.
These goods are very important in my society because they are consumed by nearly all households in the society, they are nutritious and provide cheap source of vitamins to the society.
I choose this business because I had worked as a farm hand and therefore had experience in both production and marketing of the goods,I also knew my former boss had left a market gap which need to filled.
I spend $60 in a month. My revenues are 230 in a month. My profits average is $150 in month.
I went back to local day school and I am in my third year of study, I supply the school with vegetables and that caters for my school fees so i use my profits to pay for my brothers school fees and buy books and food for my family.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders
