About Me

I am Paul Oleroh Namodo 29 years,born to Mr . Dismas Oleroh and Mrs. Rose Akumu and first born to six siblings. i hail from Bunyala District Busia county.I schooled up to high school level and there after due to financial constraints decided to venture in small businesses to cater for my basic needs as well as my siblings school fees. After soul searching i finally decided to settle on green house farming but for a long time my dream remained in pipiline because i could not aford a modern green house which was far much beyond my means.A

My Business

I am involved in temporary green house farming where I planting high end assorted horticultural crops including tomatoes,onions and water melon.Due to a seasonality nature of agricultural commodities, increasing population and dwindling food supply in Busia county, my business has gained a competitive edge since i am able to do planed and timed planting irregardless of weather conditions to take advantage of the troughs seasons to maximize on my returns.
I consider this venture profitable due to low running costs.However there are potential threats including wear and tear of the polythene material used ,strong winds and occasional theft.
I use an average of KSH3000 monthly to run the green house including costs of chemicals and maintenance,i make sales of between KSH15500 to KSH25000 monthly depending on the season, with profits of an average of 15000 per month. looking forward to expanding this venture.

This loan has just arrived at the right time.Because already i have some mature tomatoes,sukumawiki,spinach,onion on my farm,this money i am going to buy hybrid seeds that kilele f1 from Syngenta for tomatoe,onions and firtilizer.
