CHILDHOOD AND EDUCATION.
My names are Samuel Okello Oywa, am a Kenyan citizen was born in Siaya County, went to school at Bar Sauri Primary. From 1982 went to Chebwai High School, after doing my O Levels went to Kenya polytechnic where i did Machine Printing and operation.
HOW I OVERCAME HARDSHIP.
I got employed after my college with a Printing firm called Colourprint after which life was not easy because i had to take care of my siblings as my parents were not in a position to support the whole family. We are 8 members in a family. My father used to work but was later retrenched where we had to go back in the village but their was not enough support. Then I married and I have 6 children of which 2 are in college and 2 are in secondary school and the other 2 are still in primary doing class 7 and 5.
So I had to start a business because income at my place of work was not enough. Later I got retrenched and now I am just fully into this business of printing and stationery. I am trying to market my business though its not been easy considering the competition from other competitors.
The unique thing about where i live in is that there is a lot of competition when it comes to doing business, there is luck of employment and the Government is doing very little to assist.
I have 6 children and two are already finishing their college and the other two are still in high school and the other two in primary, one would like to be a manager since she did Business Management, the other would like to be an Accountant and that is what she is doing in her course. The 3rd one would wish to become an engineer and the other a doctor the other two are yet to decide what they would want in life.
My hobby is listening to music.
I do printing and stationery. I look for my jobs in offices after i have presented my company profiles. When I get these jobs I do them from people who have machines and then I deliver.
Printing is something I did right from college and I have worked in a firm and got experience on how you can market for your business. It is on demand, people need a lot of stationery in their daily use, in offices, schools, and colleges. Even printing things like T-shirts and other requirements when they want to do exhibition. I even do branding.
I get profits, though I also have children in school to educate, house rent and I also save some to add on my business and some I save a small amount to keep me going. So I believe I can pay back my loan as required.
Hallo Friends,
Am very humbled to have Zidisha as my brother and backbone to my business, at this time in my Town most people walk up and down looking for money to fund their businesses but for me i have Zidisha to give me the money on a very minimal interest. I want to buy Exams and start selling to Schools because the end of the first term is just two weeks away.
Most Schools dont print their own exams so they come to buy from most of us who have stock of exams.
I hope that my good friends whom i have a lot of faith in will come to my rescue so that am able to have my stock in time.
Thank you for being there for me and GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY.
