About Me

I am Alex Otieno Juma, 27years old, Kenyan by Nationality a Health Records and Information Officer at Nyahera Sub County Hospital. I have extensive experience in Hospital setup having worked at Cost Province General Hospital, Likoni Sub County Hospital, Tudor Sub County Hospital, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital and Kisumu County Hospital. Have also worked as Part-Time Lecturer at Thika School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Was born in a family of 5. Being their first born, I had to work hard for I had many dependents, this includes but not limited to my mum and siblings. My dad died 2001, I was discouraged and dint see reason to live then. Was able to study by the support from my friends and sponsor from Italy Andrew McMillan and his wife Roberta McMillan and through them I am educated.

When I was in college (Kenya Medical Training College), I had issues with school fees and this is the time I initiated my first business (Mobile Phone Repair). Through this I was able to raise some portion of the tuition fee and upkeep also friends could help me organize fundraisers. I graduated 2015 and there after started working as Cyber Attendant I was able to learn more there and from there I got my first employment in the Ministry of Health. Despite this I still felt the need to have a business running so I took a loan and bought a Motor Cycle which is currently giving me KES 1800 (18 USD) every week. Am glad I was able to employ someone who use it to transport people and pay himself. He gets around KES 30000 (USD 300) every month. Its my plan to add more motor cycles and I believe with Zidisha I will have like 5-10 of them this will give me around KES 9000-18000 (USD 90-180) on weekly basis that's KES 270000-540000 (USD 2700-5400) per month in the ratio of 5-10 motor cycles. Am glad my layers are doing well following zidisha support.

My county Kenya is dry. I come from Nyanza Province with unique cultures. I really enjoy so much of adventure, mountain climbing, and visiting places but above all am very creative at my free time that's all I do and as at now have created lots of databases, programs and websites. ITS MY HOPE TO ONE DAY COME UP WITH AN IDEA WHICH WILL SHAKE THE WORLD. Something so helpful to the whole Universe.

My Business

Apart from employment as Health Records and Information Officer giving me gross of 28755KES or 287.55USD and a net of 21755KES or 217.55USD, I also invested on transport sector, I was able to buy myself a motor cycle from a loan given me from my salary account though it was very expensive due to high rates but I cleared it and now my motor bike is giving me 7200KES or 72USD on a monthly basis. Not leaving behind zidisha, I am able benefiting from previous zidisha loan of 34000KES or 340USD approximately which enabled me start an M-Pesa and also layers business.

I was able to land on this businesses since its quite hard to travel within the area of my locality since not all areas there are penetrable by motor vehicle and so was the need for this kind of investment, I wish to add more motor bikes. I also chose to operate M-Pesa business to enable people within my area to easily withdraw money sent them through the service and also send money to their families and friends since it was earlier hard doing so for they had to walk 3kms in order to do so. CURRENTLY AM LOOKING ON STARTING A FREELANCING FARM AS I STUDY TOO and forms the basis of my loan now.

With the amount I receive from my businesses am able to educate my siblings who were left behind since death of my dad, I also provide for their needs and mine as well and boost the business not for geting to put aside something little for saving.
