After loosing my job in the tourism sector last year, I moved from Mombasa to Nakuru. I started a grocery shop to be able to educate my two boys, who are 17 and 9.
So far the shop is doing okay; however, I realised that, for me to be able to realise better profits, I need to expand the services I offer. I am seeking this loan to help in setting up M-Pesa services.
I sell groceries in an estate shop in Kenlands. I buy the groceries wholesale and resell at a retail cost.
There is a demand for M-Pesa services in my area because the nearest M-Pesa shop is about 1km away.
The profits will go towards educating my children: the first born, who is 17, wants to be a paramedic, and the 9 year old dreams of being a pilot. Part of the profits I will also plough back into the business to keep expanding the business and services. The other profits will go towards repaying this loan.
I am in the process of getting an M-Pesa agency at my shop . However, I am short on operating capital. When funded, I will be able to run the M-Pesa services well, this translating to better profits for the shop. This will impact positively on our family's livelihood.
