About Me

I am Denis Odoyo and I live in Nakuru county, Nakuru town, a Pangani estate near the Agape Church. This is the place I have lived most of my adult life and a place I have grown attached to. I am a business man.
I hold a diploma in Human Resources management from the Kenya Institute of Management, Nakuru.

I started this business of selling second hand bags after losing my job in a factory that was relocating from Nakuru to Nairobi and was not able to move with us because I was a casual laborer, a job I had done for close to 2 years after completing my diploma in 2001
Having had some educational background in both management and sales I started this business of bags from the saving I had accumulated from the two years in employment.

The profits from this business I use to buy more stock and make more profit as this is the only source of money, so I have to do it perfectly well and dedicate my time on it.

I intend to open other outlets in Nakuru town and the neighboring towns like Molo. These are the places that require extra cash to be able to facilitate this expansion of the business.

Business ventures are the most viable place currently in Kenya where formal employment has gone down.Being self employed has exposed me to different experiences and an eye opener to the different opportunities in sales. So a zidisha loan will help me achieve all this.

My Business

I sell second hand bags in Nakuru county, Nakuru town, along mburu gishua behind Menengai Secondary school, near the entrance of the Nakuru Municipal market. I prefer selling second hand bags because they are fast moving. My customers say they are last longing and provide a variety as I source from different markets, I make USD 180 to USD 200sh per month as per earning. Some of the challenges are many of people have started the same business but I do have my own loyal customers who trust me and are ready to buy from my stall, am looking forward for zidisha loan to fund me to add more stock which are fast moving and open other outlets in town and the neighbouring towns like Molo. All this will be possible with the zidisha loan.

Loan Proposal

when i get my loan from zidisha it will help me increase my stock and be able to open other outlets in town and other neighboring towns like Molo .the 50 dollars amount will help me do the addition of stocks and this will enable me to provide variety of bags.my customers like it when I bring a variety of bags where they can choose from and being that I source them form different suppliers then variety is guaranteed.when I open the other outlets in town and neighboring towns I will be able to employ another person who will be able to assist me with the work hence improving my livelihood and the other person too.I need your support because to have more stock will require more financial input which will be possible with this loan.

thanks to the lenders and the zidisha team for having the kind gesture of loaning small business people and also improve their livelihood in this part of the world.i would like to reduce the amount l pay weekly to kes 250 so that can be able to adjust later as currently am still selling the stock that i had and as such much of the money is still held in the stock.but december is coming when l expect more sales and will increase the sales and increase payment.
