About Me

I was born and raised in the village and though faced a lot of challenges and my parents being separated i worked hard in primary school and joined secondary school and later went to college where i studied a business related course.
After college i embarked on the journey to search for employment but after several months i was not lucky and decided to do something with my passion which is farming.
I did a lot of research and with the little savings i had i hired a small piece of land (1/4 of an acre) and started garlic farming.
The first harvest was quite discouraging but i decided not to give up and with additional research i was able to make a good harvest the second time and now with the experience i have been expanding little by little till now where am doing one acre.
From farming i started my business of supplying fresh garlic from my own farm and buying from other farmers and supplying to different markets where i take orders.
I love the culture of where i live because people love and treasure farming and i get to interact and learn a lot everyday. The land is also very fertile thus it favors farming activities. My hobby mostly is doing research about upcoming farming trends and markets.

My Business

My primary business is production and supply of fresh garlic to different markets like open air markets, hotels and groceries shops.
Local fresh garlic has a lot of demand within the region and beyond and farmers aren't even able to meet the demand since in Kenya we are currently producing 6% of the local garlic consumed in Kenya.
The reason i chose this business is because of my passion in Agri Business.
Garlic farming is quite expensive compared to other farm produce since you require a capital of up to ksh.350,000 per acre but after the harvest you expect to get ksh.750,000.
In my business i have been using the profits mostly by reinvesting (from quarter of an acre to one acre) and buying better quality seeds and pesticide.

Loan Proposal

I plan on investing part of the loan by buying good quality pesticides and fungicide to spray and good quality fertilizer to boost my yield on the farm and also to add my inventory of fresh garlic to be able to meet the supply of the orders i have and thus keep the customers happy and satisfied.
I will also invest on research mostly on export markets and get all the paper work required and meet any other requirements.
