About Me

Am purity makena, married to Elijah Kiiru and a mother of three boys. we have been married for almost 10 yrs. we live in Embakasi village in Nairobi County. Was brought up in Meru and went to school in Kaaga girls high school up to form four and came to Nairobi to do a course in business management at Kenya institute of management. my husband studied journalism and graphic design and he has a printing firm. I come from a family of four. my dad passed on 11yrs ago. we do a joint business in printing industry. I do marketing for the business and accounts while my husband does design and printing. so far this business has enabled us to buy a plot which we hope to develop soon and a car. we have also managed to buy household items such as fridge, tv, cooker, sofasets and by Gods grace we have our own home.

My Business

Over the last four years i started another business dealing with mpesa, , bank agencies , gas refill and general shop. This is want am looking foward to expand. I will repay the loan through the shop proceeds.

Loan Proposal

when i get the $50 from Zidisha I will use it to increase materials for making mats and notebooks and repay the loan in the shortest time possible to be able to get a bigger one to expand my business. I will also in future venture into making sandals and ornaments thanks for your support now i can look far. As a church leader i will give back to my community by offering some trainings to the ladies in church and around the church who have nothing to do. This way i believe their lifes will be changed. I normally work from Monday to Friday and free over the weekends therefore able to do my supplies and mostly do the mats and the notebooks. My work involves walking in offices looking for printing work thus able to also meet customers for my mats and books. Am also looking at expanding more to supply men shirts and socks and when Zidisha funds me may the 3rd loan I will do chicken rearing which am also doing but at a very small scale. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity of being introduced to Zidisha. May the Lord bless the donors hoping as time goes by I will be able to support as a donor to other needy people in the world.
