About Me

I was born in Bunyala in Busia county. I was born in a family of 6 children. My father was a fisherman while my mother was a fish monger, they both passed away in the same year while I was young. I was raised by my uncle who took me through primary and secondary school, unfortunately he passed on while I was finalizing my secondary education. I passed well and will be joining college soon.
At my third year of secondary studies,i started keeping rabbits after Aphia PLus an NGO working with orphans and vulnerable children introduced them to us. I liked the as I saw them grow, with time I had collected almost one turn of manure and started horticulture farming. Things turned out well, and I was able to pay for my fourth year school fees with easy.
I come from fishing community that lives in the shores of lake victoria, men are fishermen while women are mainly fish mongers.
I love watching boat racing ,swimming, blogging and meeting new people.

My Business

I keep rabbits for sale. The rabbits produce meat and manure. I sale the rabbits to a mombasa based businessman. I use the manure from my rabbits for growing kales which i sell to my fellow villagers.
I choose this business because it is less capital intensive and rabbits mainly feed on herbs and i spend little on commercial feeds. The rabbits provide my kale's with manure and the farm gives them feeds. This symbiotic relationship has made farming to be even cheaper.
my monthly costs is $60 and my revenues is $200. I use my profits to pay fees for my siblings and save for my education.

Loan Proposal

Dear lender,
I am so grateful for the first loan I was able to get a foot pump. But I realized the pump could not work efficiently since the water levels have gone down about 15 feet. The pump works best at ten feet. However the pump have been useful because I could draw water put it in 100 litre tank and use it to irrigate my farm. I am now requesting for a second loan to buy a small generator at $180 and 1000 litre tank to make my work easier. I would be grateful for your support once again. Thanks in advance.
