About Me

My name is Brian and I do cyber-cafe business in the city of kisumu. I came to kisumu 5 years ago after completing my secondary school education. I was born in a place called kibuye - in Kisumu county, kenya. in a family of 5 where I am the first born.

My parents where small farmers and they used to produce food crops for the family consumption before they passed away. Life was tough at home after all my parents died hardly make the ends meet and that I why I decided to move to Kisumu to live with a relative as I looked for job for my own survival.

While at Kisumu , I did a short course in IT and later got a job as a computer operator in a small bureau in kisumu. The owner of the business decided to sell it to another party since he wanted to move to another city.it forced me to become jobless for three months, With help of family and friends, I managed to open my small bussiness

I am married with two young kids.

My Business

My business is based on IT technology. I provide internet services and typing services to people in my area especially those who do not own computers or smart phones. I normally serve between10 and 30 clients per day where each clients pays a small amount depending on the service given.

My overheads include rent, electricity, paper and other miscellaneous expenses. I get a gross income of about USD 350 and about USD150. I use the profit to support my young family while a the same time putting some money back to the business for growth.
Loan Proposal
My business has grown in the last couple of months. This has created pressure on the few machines that I use in my workshop. There is an urgent need to have another computer terminal which I will use together with the old one.

I also need a reliable and affordable internet access so that I can use it to download materials that I will use for my design work. I will also use it to send my complete work to my clients.

A full computer set will cost me around USD 150 and internet connection will require USD40 as set up fee.

Loan Proposal

in my proposal i would like to state that as i had earlier stated that woud like to buy computer accessories in the long run however due toteh fact that this is my first loan and i have been started on the minimum amount of loan on 10 dollars so therefore i would like to buy glossy papers for photo printing currently i use ordinary paper which dont work well with customers requiring photo print outs
i would therefore put forward my proposal for purchasing kodak photo print papers
the cost for one rim ranges between 3 dollars to 4 us dollars therefore i stand a chance to buy 4 rims of the same .
