About Me

To begin with, my name is Kiprotich Ezra. I live in Tarakwa village in Bomet County, Rift Valley, Kenya. I was born brought up in upcountry (Rural) .I grew up in environment and culture where subsistence farming is practiced. I am graduate with a university degree but it happened that I have not yet gain formal employment so that made me to venture into farming. I would to like to mentor my children to be entrepreneurs. My hobbies are attending agricultural shoes and engaging in discussion with successful farmers (mentors)

My Business

I started livestock farming about 3 years ago, it all start with one cow and I now have 10 of them. I also invested in buying the young bulls and growing/fattening them for market. There is always ready market for the milk and beef. I buy young bulls from neighboring Narok county then I fatten them and they are ready for market in about 6 to 9 months time. I get average of $100 daily from sell of milk and and $500 per bull after every 6 to 9 months from sell of beef cattle, making a profit of about $250 after factoring in the cost of $100 and feeds $150. I use the profit to pay for my siblings education and reinvest the remaining into business.

Loan Proposal

I will buy the certified seeds from the trusted source, then plant them in my farm, at 0.5$ and prepare the land considering that the amount borrowed is small but will still utilize using the available resources. This will be of great importance to my farm, since am to increase the number of my livestock in December. It will enable increase in milk production knowing that January is a dry season, there is usually shortage of feeds.
