About Me

I am a Kenyan male aged 30 years currently living at Kiwanja market next to Kenyatta university main campus. At the age of 14 my parents divorced and nobody agreed to take the responsibility of educating me despite the fact that i was very promising. This forced me to look for alternative ways to fund for my education (i was a form one then). I took the initiative of approaching the principal of my high school and sharing with him my situation. Together we came up with an alternative which would see me through high school and that was supplying firewood and charcoal to the school. During my vacations i would log as many trees as i could while planting others. this would be converted to school fees . God's grace saw me through and i passed too thus joining Kenyatta university for a bachelor's degree in forensic science where I did well too. life in campus wasn't easy and so i decided to put up a small cosmetics and jewelry shop thanks to the higher education loan i got while in my second year of study. The profits i get help me pay my rent, fees for my young siblings(two boys and a girl) hospital insurance fund and sustain myself.
During the four years I was in campus I had the opportunity to do various short courses and attend seminars and workshops. I did an electrical craftsman course , CCNA 1&2 and a certificate in refrigeration and mechanical ventilation. I have attended seminars on entrepreneurship, leadership and taking initiative. These have left me an exposed and open minded man even in my business where I have tried to merge ideas to come up with more equipped mini shop that sells from cosmetic, artificial hairs, electrical fittings , household goods to jewelry. besides from being in the forensic science field i am an engineering hobbyist and as such have a small air conditioning shop and company. my company website is www.skillcraft.co.ke.
i have tried to train and perfect in the HVAC arena as well as imparting the same knowledge and skills to the young boys who are under my care as attachees.

My Business

A cosmetics and jewelry shop dealing with beauty products and jewelry for men and ladies.we stock genuine products making sure our clients get what they want at competitive prices. we also have nail art parlour for our female customers as well as gel application.,light dolly shoes for ladies and rubbers which are fast moving and assured profits.
I added a air conditioning repair business. I sell spares for fridges, air conditioning and electrical spares.

Project Proposal

We currently run a cosmetics shop, the business flow is good but we lack a wider range of hair products. Most customers are forced to buy from others due to the narrow range. This loan will help us to add more products on the shelves thus increasing sales and keeping our clients from walking away.
