About Me

Am samuel kazungu katana, a resident of mtwapa and a businessman in mtwapa and the surrounding areas. Born and raised in Bamba, in Kilifi district. I went to Kinagoni primary school in 1992 and left in 2000. then joined Godoma secondary school in 2001 and left in 2004.I the joined Mombasa Aviation, i did this for two years. and then i got a job with real agencies. this is a real estate and land agencies agent. This was a very good job since it gave me the opportunity to meet alot of people. In this i got the chance of meeting one friend who introduced me to business and self employment. I first started my first business. this was a poultry farm.In this business i buy and raise chicken. this business is good since the demand is high and i have ready customers. In this business there are many challenges like high price in chicken feeds, also feeding they chicks needs alot of attention since they are very delicate. this is a very good business, and i get an income of ksh 55,000 per month. With this i use ksh 28,000 to buy the chicks feeds, ksh 6,000 is used to buy medicines for the chicks and ksh6,000 is used to pay my helper who is of good help to me.

My Business

I buy chicks, raise them and when they grow, i slaughter and sell to hotels around mtwapa and the neighboring areas. I do this business here in mtwapa. this business needs alot of space, and in that i do this business in our family plot so i dont pay rent because i do this business at home.I buy the chicks form a dealer here in mtwapa, i buy ten days old chicks and feed them for three weeks and then slaughter them and take them to the respective places.I have so many orders where i supply my products because the demand is high in this area. I don't have competition in my business because it a high demand commodity and i have my special customers who i supply. The risks in this business are like, the chicks are very delicate and needs alot of attention, second mixing the feeds and the medicines also needs alot of care. The costs in this business of the chicks, buying medicines, water and paying my helper. in a month i use ksh 25,000 to buy the chicks, ksh 6,000 to buy medicines, ksh,6,000 paying my helper, ksh2,000 is used tom buy water. i save ksh 16,000 per month from thev monthly income of ksh 55,000

I failed to raise the interest I intended to reach due to an out break. I lost the stock I had. Am now seeking casual jobs in order to get back to business. It is very tough for me since I must meet my needs as well as to save to bring back the dead business. I know I will make it but it is going to cost me a lot.
