About Me

Am a single mother of two children, After my husband died three years ago. My first child is a boy aged thirteen years old and the second is eleven years old. all my children are in school here in mtomondoni, mtwapa. I live with my children here in mtomondoni in a rented house. Am a primary school dropout having ended in class seven because of the poor status of my family. I started doing business as a way of earning a living as am the only provider in the family.I started a local restaurant here in mtomondoni, which is really helping me with my children's upkeep. with the income i get from my business am able to buy food for my family, pay rent, pay school fees, and other family needs.

My Business

My business,is a local restaurant, its small but a smart restaurant i serve breakfast and lunch to my good and regular customers. This business is good and its helping me so much as i could not get a reasonable job due to my low education. I have ready and regular customers to my business and this the reason why my business is performing well. I have risks in my business like regular price fluctuations, this really affects the business as it reduces the profits. In a month i get an income of ksh 20,000 from my business. With this income i use ksh 2,000 paying rent and ksh 3,000 paying school fees, and ksh 5,000 is used for buying food for my family. So i save ksh 10,000 per month. With this amount i can use to repay my zidisha loan if grated.

Loan Proposal

Hello, My thanks to go to the entire zidisha, for accepting my loan application. Am very happy because my restaurant will have a good supply of food to my customers. With this loan i will buy wheat flour worth of ksh 2,000 cooking oil worth ksh 1,500 Beans and rice worth ksh 3,000. With this i will have boosted my business and i expect more income that will anable me to pay even earlier. Happy easter holidays to all!!

Hello am so sorry to have failled to post my last two instalments this is because i had my child admited to hospital for three weeks. this really affected my business and my financial status as i also spent more time in hospital, something that made my business to go down. due to this reason i could'nt make the required amount at the required time. Since i have now resumed my business i would like to repay my loan in three instalments starting from this month end. thank you for your patience and understanding.

Dear Fatuma: I am very sorry to hear that your child has been in hospital, and I hope that he is now recovering well. I completely understand how this will have disrupted your restaurant business. I am anxious that this loan should not be a burden to you under these circumstances, so please resume the payments when your business is back up to speed. Best wishes, Hugh

You're very welcome, Fatuma. I know that the loan is smaller than you might have wished, but at least it gets you started up the ladder in building a credit history with Zidisha. Good luck with your restaurant, and I hope that you and your boys have a very happy Easter. Best, Hugh
