About Me

My name is Salome Erastus Mwarumba. Am a mother of six children. My husband died long time ago so i had to brought up all my six children by myself. Four of my children are working while the two are still in school. I started this business to provide food on the table for my children and pay for their education and other basic needs and wants. Am planning to build a permanent shop whereby i intend to expand my business and also bu buy a fridge to sell cold drinks. At the moment am running a grocer where i sell fruits, vegetables, and cereals. There are other grocer in the village but the quality of my good and the way i serve my customer keep them coming. I didn't get the chance to go to school due to lack of money and i don't want that to happen to my children. I attended adult education which was a program by the government. I can read and write in kiswahili. please consider my application.

My Business

I run a grocer where i sell vegetables, cereals, and fruits.
There is high demand for those goods because most people are not rich. It is cheap to buy vegetables or cereals than to buy meat or fish. In this area there other communities like the Hindus which most of them are vegetarians. And there is also high demand of fruits because the Health institution have been educating the community to take fruits for diseases prevention and also consider balance diet. There are other grocers but most of them they only sell vegetables or cereals they don't keep both. and most of them they don't have the knowledge on how to handle a customer and they don't consider quality of the goods they sell. In a month i make about Ksh 44000. I spend Ksh 2500 for rent of my business premises, Ksh 4500 for my helper (when am out to buy stock she's there helping me), i spend Ksh 11000 for my stock. Ksh 13000 for my family food and schools fees and other basic need and wants. And am left with Ksh 13000.
