Having raised by a single parent, I passed through many challenges in life because life was not easy right from school to home.
My mother raised me without any help from my father.
My parents only reunited when I was already a grownups and schooling at Form three in kitale school within the town.
I played women soccer for my school and I went although to the national competition at Nairobi.
Anyway, this ended up just as a hobby but I couldn't not earn from it after I had completed high school.
Many people earn from soccer by playing for their countries but it calls for money and strong connections with godfathers .Corruption is what kills our continent and pulls down any development.
I am now married with two children and I specifically deal with selling of yams and potatoes(Irish and sweet)
I sell yams and potatoes (both Irish and sweet Potatoes).
I like this kind of business because yams and potatoes are easily affordable, and mature quickly.
Though they are very cheap, they fetch good cash if sold in large quantities.
Secondly, they are not costly when it comes to growing, harvesting and transporting hence an advantage to me.
It is Also a favorite crop among the Luhya community and so marketing it is faster that other crops.
When I get some profit, I save it and later use it to buy more tubers for growing and also putting it into various home uses like paying school fees and electricity bills
For two months now, I haven't paid business rental fee.
This is because this year my harvest was poor and I had to concentrate on payment of school fees.
I had rented a shop which I pay ksh2000($2) so that instead of selling my potatoes in open market during market days only, at least I have a closed structure where my regular customers can reach me quickly.
please since I have $25, I kindly request for $13 so that I complete business rent.
Your support will be highly appreciated.
