my name is susan hankope.iam 51 years old.i was born in choma.i was born in a family of nine and im the sixth born.iam married and i have six children.my husband is a bricklayerer.i got married in 1988.iam a business woman.i have a small shop right in front of my house where i sell groceries.this has helped me and my husband to take care of our family.i went to school at mmabo primary school and i went to jembo secondary school.Last year i took a loan from zidisha to boost up my business and it has really helped me.my customers are so happy for me.so far i have got three loans from zidisha. This is my fourth loan application
i have small shop in front of my house where i sell groceries.i have had the shop for years.the items i sell in my shop are bread, milk, sugar, soap, lotions, biscuits and juice.i order these items in wholesale shops in town.sugar i order at $24 a case of 20 packets and i sell at $260 a case of 24 packets.bread i order a loaf at 7cents a loaf and i sell at $1 a loaf.milk i order at $6 a case then i sell at $8 a case.these items are marketable bacause my area is a bit far from town so people come to my shop alot.So far my shop has improved a lot since my last loan taken from zidisha.im very grateful because this business is helping me take care of my family.i have expanded my shop and i still want to expand it.am still applying for another loan because im interested in growing my business. With the profits i made from my last loan i was even able to help fund my daughters wedding. My husband and i have embarked on a building project. We are building a small house behind our main house to put up for rent.
when i get the loan i will use the money to buy iron sheets.20 iron sheet will cost $200 then il buy cement 20 pockets which is $160 dollars.il also buy roofing nails $10 a packet and then il but planks at $30 dollars.with these items i will have managed to finish up my house and hopefully it will be ready for occupation soon.il put it up for rent and il put it at around $80 per month.right now the house is halfway done.the profits iv been making from the slaes in my shop have really helped me.the loan i took from zidisha has improved my life and my familys life.my daughter is getting married in April and il be able to make a small contribution towards her wedding because of my slaes in my shop.i look forward to the next loan so that i can grow my business further.
