About Me

I was born in Central Kenya, Kahuho village nanyuki town, Am the first born in my family, with other two younger brothers, My father is a shopkeeper while my mum is a peasant farmer. With background the my parents struggled to educate us, i managed to do my form four exam and passed from the local secondary, with the rest still in school i could not pursue my college studies. I left to Mombasa where my dad used to stay and while their i joined my friend who hard a computer in his house, through my eagerness i managed to learn basic in computer operation and this was my beginning of my computerized graphic life. i started doing sketch works, then later i tried to develop artistic image and its when i was introduced to local artist in music and video. I used to visited some music and video production house while in the company of friends, they produced their music and video, they asked me to develop their packaging graphics which with time i gained acceptance. they usual pay some cash for the work which is the main upkeep in my town life. Drawing has become my hobby and my daily bread. Though i have to hire a computer or use my friends to do the job i believe i will one own one. I believe to get a loan from Zidisha community and secure my future.

My Business

I design CD&DVD cover and labels, banners and poster for local music, drama and video artist, you can take a look at my Facebook as i have posted a lot of pictures there. Most local artist don't have enough cash to contract a label company or big production house to develop their CDs packaging, Its this gap that i fit in by giving the what they could pay heavily for if outsourced from big company. I believe with the coming of computer digital recording, each house or family around us has an artist(Msanii as they are called in Swahili). Lack of capital and good promoter makes the move around with a black label less staff which is not appealing to any one.In fact it demotivated any potential buy.Through my services am able to uplift their music and videos and make them get a sale or show. Its with this spirit and determination they showed that i decided to perfect my computer graphic skills that i had learn in streets to promote and encourage them. With hired computer of friend computer i can design a CD cover, poster or any design with an hour and get 150 to 350Ksh(USD2-4) per work. I then pay Ksh 60(Usd 0.8) for the one hour or cyber charges whenever i hire. I have bean saving this money to buy a good computer, have good internet connection, printer and an office for production of my work. i pay rent, send some money home, to assist my parent for my brothers fees . Through this most artist will have low cost in their packaging and marketing of their music. Hence i will have promoted most of my community and friends who aren't formally employed and are trying to make ends meet in Artistically world.

Loan Proposal

A good and refurbished computer Cost (Usd250) Ksh 24,000. I intend to add this loan to my current saving to enable me purchase the computer instead of waiting for next 3 months to raise the whole amount. Then i will later buy a printer and open the office instead of working from home as i do currently. With this computer i will save most of the cost i incur when i use cyber or hire a computer. By reducing this cost i will fast track my move to buy a printer and open my digital design office .Also the time we lose while moving from place to place will be reduced hence concentration on perfection of clients work. Lastly with a physical office it will be easier for the clients to trace me and have confidence of working with me, not only them but even the Zidisha community.
