About Me

Hi there, I am a passionate farmer with a dream of setting up a thriving agribusiness that will supplement his online freelancing business. I have since started rearing quails in Ndumberi in Kiambu County and hope to expand to other types of poultry. I hold a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences, which I hope to apply to my business. I envision a situation in which my agribusiness will be able to grow, expand, and offer employment to numerous job-seeking youths in my county and country. I believe that Zidisha will help me form networks and actualize my dream.

My Business

The primary source of my agribusiness is personal savings. Quail farming is not capital intensive and as thus, the little savings I had was sufficient to launch the start up business. Lack of security hindered my ability to acquire loans from lending institutions that would have allowed me to start up in a wider scale. Quail farming is a highly profitable business and the products have a ready market in Kenya. I believe that this business has a potential of growing and becoming the kind of business that will not only supply the local market but also the export market.

Loan Proposal

Hi Lenders, I request that you loan me the amount requested so that I can increase my stock of quail eggs for incubation. I intend to invest the money by buying quail eggs which i will incubate and hatch the chicks using my incubator. I intend to rear the hatched chicks for 2 weeks and sell them off and use part of the income to repay the loan and re-invest part of the profit. I am well able to meet the weekly repayments from my business. Looking forward to your assistance. Thanks in advance

Hi Lenders, Let me start by apologizing for the long silence. I know that I am running late in my loan repayment. My business sunk with all the money. There was a market bubble which bursted when i was about to bring my produce to the markets. I incurred losses of close to $800. However, I am now back on my feet and I wish to renew my commitment to repay the whole loan in quick succession. Again, I apologize for the long silence.

Hey Patrick, we as lenders are curious what has happened? We are looking to see if you plan to repay your loan? You are affecting other people because many of us lenders take the money that we lend to people and then relend it once it has been paid back. Do you realize you are affecting others and their chances to receive funding?

    Patrick,

I hope everything is going well for you and your business. I see you have fallen 3 weeks behind in your repayments. Are you facing any problems? I would recommend you reschedule your loan so as not to get a negative on-time repayment score.

Let us know how everything is going, OK?

    Thanks,
    Cris

Hi Lenders, my birds are now 3 weeks old and they are doing very well. I started with 158 day olds, 28 of them died in the course of the 3 weeks. i have since learnt a lot on how to minimize mortalities, i have moved them from the brooder to their new housing unit and they look happy...more updates soon

Hi Lenders, let me start by conveying my heart felt appreciation for your financial assistance. I am amazed at the speed at which you all came to my aid. Now, I invested the loaned amount to purchase eggs for incubation and spent the balance in finishing up the construction of my quail cages. I will keep you updated of the progress of the venture as time goes by. Thank you very much
