About Me

I am a 25 year old Kenyan Citizen. I am the last boy and the only son in a family of three. My Mother is a single parent and sells second hand clothes in Thika Mukiriti Market.
I live in Thika's Ofafa Estate behind Canopy Inn. I live with my mother as my two sisters, Beth and Agnes live on their own.
I sell roasted and boiled maize just outside our home. I started my business after clearing High School. I purchase the maize from Makongeni market which are fresh from the farm. I go to the market as early as 5am so as to get the best maize and cheap in price.
One maize goes for Ksh. 5 and after either selling or roasting it goes for Ksh. 20 to 30.

My Business

I sell roasted and boiled maize just outside my home at Ofafa Estate behind Canopy Inn. I work from Monday to Saturday from 2pm to 9pm.
Many people prefer my maize from the rest because I ensure that they cook to the customers specifications. Also, I sell to them soft maize that is normally sweet to taste. Additionally, I have pepper and lemon that is used to spice up the maize.
In a day, I make around Ksh. 500 to 700.
The risks involved in the business include fluctuation in maize prices.
Maize business is booming in Kenya as even its the staple food in the country. When planted, Maize grow well as the climate in many parts of the country especially in the Rift Valley and Central provide conducive environment for the maize to grow. This makes it easier for the business as continued supply is guaranteed.

Loan Proposal

Hi Zidisha Family.
Thanks for granting me the opportunity to seek my first loan.
i will use the loan to add my stock of maze which is ksh. 3000. The remaining ksh. 4500, will use t to buy well equipped maze charcoal burner that will ensure that the roasted maze doesn't smell smoke. Also, will purchase a bag of charcoal especially now that a bag is cheap.
also plan to incorporate selling roasted potatoes and will purchase a drum of potatoes and see expand my business to a greater variety.
Through Zidisha, will be n a position to realize my dream and n the long run educate myself.

    Dear Lenders,
His loan is set to be cleared in full latest by end January 2015, that is in two months time. I know it might seem a rather long projection owing to the fact that its on 1st December, but from the talk we had, I know and I choose to be believe by end January latest, his loan will be cleared.
I will keep you updated as time progresses.

    Dear Lenders,
I called Mr. Guchura today and he told me he would commence repaying by January 15 2014. This is because he has been having some family problems over this Christmas season which have had some severe consequences to him.
I will visit him next week, probably I can even help him even if its through being a friend for him to talk to

    Dear Lenders,
Hawkers in Thika have suffered from molestation by the town council authority. They carried all our belongings in our premises due to licensing. A case is to be determined next week and we are to receive back our goods back, and we shall be back in business. This is the reason as to why I have delaid in repayment and I really apologize. I am now subject to repaying as soon as possible. Please bear with me.
