About Me

I am business woman, the first born in a family of three – a brother and a sister. I live in Green Plots Apartments, which is on 5TH Avenue, Ongata Rongai, an upcoming urban town that borders with Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city. I have been a business woman ever since I started my eatery, back in June 2010 under the name of ‘Sawa Snacks’. I have majored in Hotel And Hospitality course and attained a college diploma in the same. This is because of the passion that I have hold since my childhood, and it’s of the same reason that I started my business. Basically, most of my business earning is spent back in the business in terms of expanding it by purchasing extra equipments and machinery needed in my business and a continuance replenishing of my stock. I would say, that I am a better business woman today than I was when I entered this industry, due to the vast experience I have gained over time.

My Business

‘Sawa Snacks’ is a wide-service eatery, located behind Tusky’s Supermarket, the heartbeat of Ongata Rongai, in Kajiado County, a heavily populated, home-town community. I have wholly owned and operated ‘Sawa Snacks’, for the past two years, an eatery that offers a wide array of Snacks and Beverages like, bread, sandwiches, crisps, doughnuts, cookies, pastries, coffee, tea, milk, natural juices, energy drinks, sodas, mineral water and other soft drinks.
Snack stores are rapidly gaining popularity in this area as people become more work-oriented, creating less time for household purchases, thus ‘Sawa Snacks’ focuses on carrying a wider variety of products than any of its competitors and tries to offer these products at lower prices. Carrying a wider line of goods and services, allows my customers to satisfy more needs quickly in one location, which makes them prefer dealing with me than any of my competitors. The stores larger floor space also allows it to provide items not previously offered in the local market. Its location has also gained my stores a competitive advantage. My typical monthly operating expenses include my rent, advertising expenses, labor cost, restocking and utilities, which totals to around Kshs. 16, 000. And with an average monthly sales revenue of approximately Kshs. 30, 000, my business is left with a profit of just about Kshs. 14, 000.

Loan Proposal

Hi Zidisha lenders. Thank you so much for your last loan. As you noticed, it proved to be a major success than I had even anticipated and has been of much help to my business since it hugely increased my client base. I have managed to clear that loan and am hoping you will finance my second loan as you did the first one. Since my store is on an expansion program, I am planning on putting 28, 000 into renovating the store’s fixtures, fittings and painting and also purchasing of extra furniture, i.e. 3 tables and 12 seats to increase the client capacity my shop can hold and a cabinet for snacks. I will then replenish my stock by increasing an additional inventory of about 40, 000 which will includes breads, sandwiches, doughnuts, cookies, pastries, energy drinks, sodas, mineral water and other soft drinks. And due to the sharp increase of demand from my customers, my shop requires 4 supplementary juice blending machines which will cost me approximately 16, 000. The remaining 15, 000 will be spent on my promotions and marketing campaigns which have proved to be very successful on the last account. Thank you again for having faith in my business. Regards
