About Me

My names are Mary Wanjiru Mwangi being born at Ndundori Centre in a family of 3 children as a last born. I started my education at Mukeo Primary school up to standard six. Due to lack of finance my parents were unable to cater for my secondary school fees so I didn't go further with my education.
Due to that, I was employed as a shopkeeper at Ndundori Centre for 15 years.
Am a single mother being blessed with one child.
Afterwards, through my savings I was able to start a business now in town in a market of selling fruits and vegetables in the year 1987 upto 1990.
I started another business of which I put a kiosk within a bus station of selling cakes and soda to the passengers and the people around.
Later I started another business of selling herbal medicines and detergents.
Through my business of which I run up to now, I am able to purchase earnings of which it has been so helpful me to cater for myself and my child.

My Business

As I described that I deal with selling herbal medicine and detergents. For herbal medicines I deal with individuals while for detergents you book for an order either from schools, churches, hotels etc.
Mostly I deal with detergents because nit demand is a bit higher than herbal medicines since nowadays most people are afraid of using herbal medicines.
I use to supply my good from one place to another through walking asking for orders. Once your customer proof your product that is, detergent is of good quality then your are able to maintain that customer of which will be demanding on you.
The risk that I face mostly is that competition is too high. Another thing is lack of transport because for example a school or a hotel may inquire a lot of detergents like 50kgs (in liquid) and maybe it is located far away from town. So the transportation may be much higher. Another thing is lack of capital.
The earnings that i get through my business is like Kshs. 4,000 per month of which is too low according to nowadays life. This is due to lack of capital because i've been unable to supply goods to many places of which the demand too high.
I know through Zidisha they will enable me run my business smoothly.

Loan Proposal

Hi Zidisha, this is really a blessing to have people like you in my life-time. You are doing a great job and to many you have changed their lives. Thank you so much.
Through your loan I will be able to meet my customer needs as it has been my wish to do so. But due to lack of enough money it have been difficult for me to do so.
Also I have a dream of buying a motor-cycle which will help me in transporting my goods to my customers on time.
I promise to work hard to meet my dream and trough you I know it is possible.
Thank you.
