Am a university graduate in Agribusiness management, since graduation i have never had a reasonable job. I am teaching Business and Agriculture in a brotherhood private high school, beside this i have employed one person to run my motorbike to carry people and luggage from which i earn averagely $ 80 per month. With this earning i have engaged in production of horticulture (kales, cabbage and Tomatoes). I am looking for funds to start green house to improve my tomato production and teach other farmers on its benefit. I am a husband and a father to one lovely daughter happily living together. i believe i can jobs to many jobless kenyans' through farming
I have four sources of income, from teaching i earn $ 140 per month, Motorbike transportation $80. i also help in distributing poor friendly solar systems that light the villages where there is no access to Electricity, from which i earn about $40 as commission per month. my horticulture though on small scale am able to raise income of $ 50 . Total income is $310. in the last two month i have saving $95 towards Greenhouse from Amiran Kenya at cost of $ 2000. i believe this can change my life and enable me create more jobs. i will use the loan to increase the acreage of my horticulture and with time buy the green house technology.
objective; to raise a high yielding tomato and cabbage crops on a half acre
Budget $50
Tomato fortune maker $18
Queen F1 Cabbage $8
Knapsack sprayer $18
Insecticide $5
Total $50
Projected income between $ 300 to $400.
The $ 50 loan will help me expand my horticulture farming and thus increase my income. This will be adding value to my journey towards establishing a green house that provides sure output. For instance if i acquire an 8m*15m green house i will be able to raise 600 tomato plants, each plant can yield 25kg to 35 kg within 6 month and can be done for 2 seasons in a year. farm gate price for 2kg is 1$ and therefore the math gives us 300 plants*25 kg*$1/2*2 seasons =$7500. this will enable me to employ 2 people and make me be a lender from being a borrow.
