    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha. Within this role, I am coordinating the Zidisha's MPESA team, responsible for processing loan repayments and disbursements.

Today, while reviewing our accounts, I noticed two loan repayments that were not registered in Mr Kimani's repayment schedule:
    - a loan repayment of 7,300 KES (86.84 USD) sent by Mr Kimani on June, 03,
    - an overpayment of 2,632 KES (31.32 USD) which was refunded to Mr Kimani on April, 30.

I have now credited these amounts to his current repayment schedule. Mr Kimani, we are sorry for this inconvenience and we wish you all the best with your shop!

    Best regards,

    Roberta
    Zidisha Team

Mr. Kimani, I am excited to hear about your Amazing School. My parents were both teachers, my brother and sister are teachers, so I know the important role that education plays. Congratulations, and I hope the school is successful in every way.

Hello, my name is Dan Cembrola, one of Zidisha’s Kenya Client Relationship Managers. I am currently visiting Zidisha borrowers in Nakuru and its outskirts.

David first came to the village of Solai, located an hour north of Nakuru, in the late 1990’s to work as a teacher. Since then, he has also owned and operated a store selling fertilizer and seeds. He was able to expand his business with his Zidisha loan and quickly identified a need in his community. Still a teacher at heart, David recognized the lack of a local school for many of the community’s younger children. Using the extra money coming in from his business, David decided to remedy this problem by opening the Amazing School in Solai.

David Kimani seems very optimistic about the future as he looks at one of his four children sitting in one of the eight classrooms at the Amazing School. The school serves 167 children in the village and employs eight teachers. He is currently planning to build another permanent structure on his campus to accommodate the growing demand his school is attracting. He also has plans for offering housing on the campus to allow for children who live further afar from the Amazing School to board there.

There are many inspiring stories of business owners using their loan from Zidisha to expand the potential of their businesses and uplift the lives of their families and communities. David Kimani is an exceptional and remarkable example of this.

finally the rains are here with us in our area. this is good news to the farmers in the area. it is also good news to me as a business man because i will now stock the shop with farm inputs such as maize seeds, fertilizer and some bean seeds. i hope that i will be able to stock the shop in time for the planting by the farmers. they are now busy preparing the land.
