About Me

My names are Paul Kamau Kimani. I am a Kenyan living in Kenya Nakuru county in Nakuru town. I single 26 years old. Profession wise I am an o-level and a holder of a certificate in adult education. Am also computer knowledgeable. Currently am pursuing a diploma in Information Technology. Am also a business person and mostly a supplier of chicken to hotels. I conduct my business mostly at nakuru town where I supply chicken to individual homes but mostly to my clients who are hoteliers. I have a passion for business and aspiring to own my own big company in future. I understand that this requires time dedication and most of all capital and that is why I have decided to start at the bottom upwards by growing my small poultry business.
I reside in Nakuru town. Near the town centre a place called free hold. My neighbouring estates are langalanga, afraha and shabee. The distance from town is about 6 kilometers to free hold. Am located near a restaurant called abbey resort which is also in freehold.
I take myself to be dynamic, hardworking, resourceful and also industrious and flexible. I am mostly inspired by great investors who usually begins from scratch to later become millionairs from their investment. I would also want in future to take the burden in our community and be an employer a mentor and also assist others in achieving their drams through self employment rather than depending on employment. To be self independent.
Looking at our Kenyan economy, most youths remains jobless due to over dependency on employment thereby remaining to wait to be employment. This lack of employment is also due to the fact that the job market is much concentrated. There are no enough jobs for everyone. This understanding is also a motive behind my plans of growing my self through self employment by being a maize farmer and a poultry farmer. The two enterprises will complement each other in terms of capital and food.
The knowledge that am getting in studying Information Technology I believe that it will enable my to embrace the new technology and adopt new methods of farming and poultry production that will lead to an increase in output and also production of better quality products that will lead to expansion of market.
From what I have observed during the time I have been a supplier, that if I can increase and expand my farming the clents demands will be met. That is in terms of the quantity demanded and at the best quality. For this to be achieved accordingly sufficient capital is needed. This capital can be used to add stock to the existing one, to expand the poultry houses and to purchase better quality feeds that are essential for better and faster growth of the chickens.
Lastly, I would wish to state that if granted all this wishes I would work hard to meet this goals. Meet the demands of my clients and also grow my self and others in the community.

My Business

I have been aspiring to own and manage my own business. From my background I have gained a lot of experience in farming of crops and animal husbandry. In my county most people have concentrated in businesses and neglecting farming. They also prefer being employed to self-employment. This is an opportunity for a person who has an idea and dream of transforming a iota unit of farming to multinational recognized farm dealing in supplying of agricultural products to hotels, shops, schools, colleges, companies, local and outside market. This was my driving force. To start, to grow, to thrive make money and assist others to succeed through employment. This dream is being thwarted by a number of stumbling blocks one of them being lack of capital. Beside this forementioned factor, I have established two enterprises that are so far growing slowly although if catalyzed have a potential to boom. These two are poultry rearing and maize farming.
I have a first hand experience and a lot of exposure in rearing of chicken since immediately after highschool I was employed as a farm worker in a farm where poultry rearing was the main enterprise. I began by buying chicken from other farmers in my area and supplying them to hotels in my area. From my village I extended my supply to Nakuru town so as to gain more profit. I got few hotels for beginning where I could supply once after every three days. This amounted to like 20 chickens per week. I decided to concentrate my supply to Nakuru town as I got more profit as compared to selling them in Elburgon town: my village town.
As I wanted to have my own business. I used the capital to build a poultry house. The little capital allowed me to raise a structure that can accommodate only forty chickens at a go. I also needed feed and drugs to keep my chicken healthy. I was still buying and supplying chicken as I established my raring system. I kicked off well in January 2013 . I had now my own little business. I had a dream of growing it. So I worked very hard to see it grow. Ensuring enough food, checking on the health, water cleanliness and their multiplication. I had to coordinate and to manage that.
I began with just five chicks. I continued buying chicks at low price and growing them my self. After they are fully grown and gained weigt I could sell them. I had continued adding clients gradually and this meant I had to buy more chickens to compliment the demand. This meant I had to expand my enterprise.
Currently I have concentrated on poultry rearing and leaving maize farming to complement poultry farming in terms of food. This business is promising to grow. I have managed to gain a rapport from my client because of my consistency and also supply of good market weight chicken. Also I have established a good communication framework with my clients who could call me anytime in case they need a supply.
With this promising potential. I would wish to expand the business to avoid limiting myself in terms of the number of clients I have to supply chicken at a go.

Loan Proposal

I HAVE A DREAM OF BECOMING A CHICKEN SUPPLIER TO RESTATURANTS, SUPERMARKETS, MARKETS, SCHOOLS, INDIVIDUAL CONSUMERS AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS. THIS TARGET CAN ONLY BE MET BY SOUND PLANNING AND SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF CAPITAL. THE CHICKEN REARING IN AN INTENSIVE UNDERTAKING WITH ALL SUFFICIENT INPUTS IS A PROFIT PROMISING ENTERPRISE AS THERE IS AN INCREASE IN THE DEMAND FOR CHICKEN MEAT. I AS A FARMER AND A BUSINESS PERSON AM PLANNING TO WORK HARD TO ACHIEVE THIS DREAM AND ALSO TO MEET MY CLIENTS DEMAND MAKING SURE THE SUPPLY IS AT THE RIGHT TIME AND VERY SUFFICIENT. IF GRANTED THE LOAN AM PLANNING TO ADD THE NUMBER OF THE NUMBER OF STOCK, INCREASE THE POULTRY HOUSE. ALSO TO ENSURE PROPER HUSBANDRY I CAN USE THE LOAN TO ACQUIRE A LABOURER. THIS CHANGE TRANSLATES INTO A GOOD GROWING ENTERPRISE AND FINALLY ENABLE ME TO ACHIEVE MY DREAMS.
