am a christian aged 25yrs,am the fouth born in a family of 5,am married and hav two kids, ilive in an area called shabab in appantments called shabab center plaza.i am attainend my o-levels in 2006 with b- mean grade after high school i attended computer classes, while attending the computer classes i used to plait womens hair as a hairdresser in which ihad atalent az apartime job.after igot my certificate,ii opened akiosk where iwould sell fruits and vegetables, candies, sweets, airtime etc with the income igot from the partime job which had become fulltime, the job grew coz iwaz located near an estate called koinange.then there was shops build in one of the, plots there.i sacrificed myself and paid one of the shops which were only three.i didnt hav startup capital, with the little that ihad iapplied for a loan in mybank which was granted of about 80000kes,with that it grew after which i applied another of 120000kes ipaid.ifininished paying athe last instalmemt just the other day in6th of jan 2013ihav empolyed 2workers who help reach my targets, iuse the earnigs in paying utillity bills eg rent, school fees
my business is located in a estate called GILANI ESTATE,its a Grocery shop where i sell fresh ruits and vegetables, cereals, sugar, bread, milk, cooking fat etc,due the usege of daily need of the goods that i sell ,combined by the readily available customers from the flats i got a boost.also due to the location it was located iwas preffered than going a kilimetre away in suparmarket nearbythe business now is good jugding by paying the last crediter in my last instalment on 6th jan,the only risk is some customers not paying in time there credits or even difalting while shifting residence without notice,,also fresh goods going waste when supply i high.in a good average day i can sell goods worth 12000kes on a worst days is 7000kes but average is 10000kes mostly, after calculating my profits average i get 3000kes daily.the onnly thing that tie me i luck of enough working capital whereas idont hav certain commodities ,and the loans we get hav high interest rate thus draining us al my profits,i learned through a friend about Zidisha micro-organization and i decided to forward my case .thanks
i have been in this business for like four years now and i those four years i have been reinjecting back the little profits that we share with loans that i got due to this my working capital is limited but with the expected funding from zidisha i plan to add more stock and variety so as to meet my customers demand .due to this limitation some commoditys are missing in the shelves, limited working capital has always posed as a challerge
