My full names are Samwel Kariba Kamau, a resident of Kiptangwanyi shopping center. I was born in Muranga in central province of Kenya. This is where I attended my primary school and later joined secondary school. We later moved from Muranga to Nakuru and to Kiptangwanyi in the year 1985. I attended a technical training college in Nakuru where I did a wiring course for about six months. After completing the course, I started operating in various places doing casual labor here and there. This was not very good for me as this was seasonal and sometimes I could go for days without anywhere to do a job. I started saving little by little and soon enough I got capital to start a business. I settled down for a hardware business but this required a high initial capital. I am married with three children in school. I live in my own piece of land which is plot number 731 at the shopping center.
The business of hardware is one that requires high initial capital. At this moment I could not afford to raise this high amount of money. I therefore started with small hardware items such as iron sheets, nails, barbed wires. My business was not well stocked but this did not discourage me from pressing on. Slowly by slowly I got on regular customers and these are the ones who made my business survive up to this far. I have been in this business for now ten years and i know how to maneuver my way out of the common challenges that this business encounters. With the trend of growth in this area where people are now turning into building and construction using concrete, and stones, this business has a greater chance of improving and this is what I want to utilize to the fullest. The business usually has good profit which I usually plough back in order to expand it. I hope to propel this business to even great and higher levels.
I have been waiting for this opportunity which I know will transform my business to a higher level than it is currently in. I want to use this loan to purchase more building and construction materials. This will also involve buying new materials that my business currently do not have. They include wheelbarrows, building metals, construction wires. This will give my business a new look and this will be good for my business.
