About Me

I am a third born in a family of eight, which is a typical scenario in many African families in the rural set up. My first two siblings did not find an opportunity to progress with their studies beyond primary level. I was however lucky to proceed up to college through the help of well wishers. However, it is about eight years since I enrolled as a student in Moi University yet I haven't finished my undergraduate studies to date.
Life for me has been struggle of trying to balance between my personal and family needs. It was hoped that after my studies, I would take up a central in providing for my younger siblings since my education would help me get a reasonable job. This has not happened yet because of my inability to complete my studies. Moreover, the job situation in Kenya, like in many other African countries, is grim.
This has placed me in a compromising situation where I have to seek means of sustaining myself in Eldoret town (near my institution of learning), so that whenever possible, I squeeze some time to clear the backlog of studies that are holding me from graduating while at the same time looking to assist my siblings with their needs.
Thus after several short stints at various workplaces, I was introduced into the world of freelance writing by a friend (I value him a for this). So, for almost a year now, I have been involved in freelance writing. However, I do freelance writing as somebody's employee. Despite having sustained for the said period, it is not easy to raise substantial money within a reasonable period of time such it is a hand-to-mouth kind of engagement. This means that I have to be engaged full time to raise money to cater for my needs and for others who look up to me.
This year, I am looking for ways of attaining financial freedom by setting up online investment such as a website in which I will be able offer training for people out there whose story may be like mine or even worse so they may also be able to earn income from the internet, while I also earn from ads placed on my site. I also look forward to setting up a physical business that will help me take care of my siblings without needing my direct attention. This way, I believe I will get plenty of time to complete my undergraduate studies and continue helping not only my family members but the society as well and even people in other countries through this kind of arrangement.

My Business

As already pointed out, I am a freelance writer who just realized that people can earn some money online under a year ago. Thus, I am still not well established in the online income generation activities. I have been an employee of a more experienced online entrepreneur all this time. When I work very hard, I earn between 20,000-30,000 Kenya shillings per month. I therefore seek to purchase better equipment such as a good laptop with a webcam to enable take up positions such as a virtual assistant, which I have qualified for in the past but lacked the necessary equipment to facilitate my employment.
Apart from this, setting up and maintaining a website to help me share what I have learnt with others also requires financial input. I feel that there are some people out there who need to know how to start generating income from the internet yet those who can help them choose to charge exorbitant training costs thus cutting them off. I want to help such people.
In a nut shell, I have the potential to do well and help others do well too but am incapacitated by my limited earning ability. With your help I believe I will confidently march towards financial freedom as well as achieving my other goals in life. I am trying to manage with what I have but with a boost from you, I will be propelled to get to my dreams faster and a lot more easily.
I believe that the money I earn from freelance writing is adequate to facilitate the repayment of this loan as I look to extend my online activities to earn more.

Loan Proposal

Once I get the funds, my greatest priority is to acquire a laptop with a good processing speed, webcam support as well as other functionalities that will enable me to have the online mobility and flexibility I desire. As mentioned in my profile, I have, in the past qualified for virtual assistant positions but could not take them up because the desktop I currently use does not support these functionalities. Thus, with the laptop, I will be able to expand my online boundaries to generate more income under the guidance of my already thriving mentors.
I also look forward to an easier time handling the administrative activities with the laptop on the website I intend to set up. I seek to assist others with a story similar to mine or worse off, to at least start earning some income online through the website and all other possible means. I also intend to take online classes to further my IT skills and all these will be possible if I get to acquire the laptop. This will be a life changer for me, and the beginning of a big story in Kenya as well as for the ZIdisha community.

I know my lenders made sacrifices to raise the money they assisted me with. If there is someone who feels bad about the unpaid money, that person is me. Since loosing my online writing account, it has not been easy for me. However, I remain committed to clearing the loan balance and I know deep within me that I will. Thanks very much for your patience.

I am deeply sorry for the trend I have exhibited since mid June. I must, however, reiterate that, as noted earlier, I lost my academic research account on the 19th of June. I managed to get another one recently, thanks to the laptop the loan helped me to purchase, and I will be in a position to start making repayments beginning mid this month. Thank you very much my lenders and once again, I promise that I shall repay the loan in full.

    Dear Lenders,
I was able to get hold of George on phone and he said his writing account got suspended and his earnings got with-held and rendered him unable to pay the loan on time. However, he promised he will be able to get back with the schedule starting August.

I fully appreciate the fact that I am behind on my repayment. As such, my lenders have every right to get concerned because of the patterns they have seen so far. However, I wish to assure them that I do not have any ill motives whatsoever; it is just that I have financial challenges due to the relatively heavy financial burden that I carry. Nonetheless, my lenders should rest assured because although I have been unable to honor my repayment schedule so far, I will repay my loan in full by the end of the repayment schedule.

I am very sorry for the delay in giving any feedback since I received the loan. I must make it plain to all lenders that I will forever remain grateful for the loan. The reason why I seek to reschedule my repayment schedule is that to top up the money I received, I had to wait till end of February to use my pay to top up the loan and savings. In addition, I stopped working under anyone and I am now independent. I shall be able to start earning steadily at the end of this month (March). From that time onwards, I will be able to repay the loan with ease. Thank you.

I must admit that I was overwhelmed by the prompt response of the Zidisha Community towards my loan request. I am humbled by this gesture. May God bless you all abundantly.
