About Me

I will my second loan to increase the number of broilers I keep from current 100 chicken to 300. I am a university graduate very passionate in online and agri-business. I am a full time academic writer with over 3 years working experience and a holder of Bachelors degree in Microbiology. Agri-business is my passion. I keep poultry specifically indigenous chicken and recently ventured into broiler keeping. Currently I have 75 indigenous chicken and 100 broilers. I also sell day old chicks and used the income from the sale of day old chicks and eggs to buy my first 100 broilers. They are at week 4, will be selling them next week at week 5 at approximately $5 each. I approximate by week 5 each broiler chicken will have spend $2.5-2.8, hence will make a profit of $2.3-2.5. My first zidisha loan I used to buy an incubator.

My Business

I will be able to repay loan from the income I get from my agri-business (sale of eggs, day old chicks and broilers). An indigenous chicken egg costs $0.25. Currently I collect 25 eggs per day, in next 1month more indigenous hen will start laying. I also sell day old chicks which I incubate using the incubator I bought with my first loan.I will be selling my first 100 broilers at the end of week 5. Currently they are 4 weeks, 2 days old. In addition, I am an online academic and research writer. I am paid twice a month by the company I work for. I also have direct customers who pay me immediately I complete working on their academic papers. To maximize on profits from my poultry business I have employed a worker to be monitoring them and ensure their productivity is to the maximum

Loan Proposal

Poultry farming is one of the fastest growing agri-business. There is high demand by new farmers for day old chicks especially indigenous and Kenbro breeds. Since I started chicken farming I have been allowing the mother hens to incubate their eggs. However, my customer base has increased and as a result need to increase the number of chicks hatched. It is due to this I started raising cash to buy an egg incubator. This loan will help me top up the amount I have o far raised to buy a medium size incubator.
