Dear lenders thanks very much for fully funding my loan, I received the money immediately the last bid was made through my mobile phone money transfer system and I was very happy. I have bought more pharmaceutical products for my clinic and my client will be able to access better services. I wish to reduce my weekly payment to easy manageable installment to avoid any delay in payment in future so that I may protect my payment history to be able to access more credit in future

Hello, my name is Traci Yoshiyama, Zidisha’s Kenya Client Relationship Manager. I am currently visiting Zidisha borrowers in and around Nairobi.

With an endless number of clients to visit, one would expect their faces and stories to get muddled together, eventually losing that initial excitement on feels when on a new endeavor. This has not been the case as a Zidisha Client Relationship Manager, for every Zidisha member exposes a defining quality that stays with a person long after a visit. Dennis Njoka was no different, for what struck me most was his deep compassion for others. Dennis expresses that the word of God should not be preached, but rather shown through actions, for although his first loan was used to purchase medicine for his pharmacy, a large part of his income went towards helping friends and family in need.

In addition to adding stock to his pharmacy, Dennis used the Zidisha loan to start a boutique stall for his wife. Just starting the day, I catch this woman of few words setting up her boutique in one of the many makeshift stalls lining the dusty road of Utawala. She picks through bags of clothes and shoes, looking for the most appealing fashions to entice her customers. Not yet bearing a name, Dennis and his wife hope to own a shop one day to call their own.

As we sit and chat over tea and sandwiches, I also learn that Dennis envisions opening a clinic, with the hope of employing people in Utawala. It is his dream he confesses. If able to take out a second Zidisiha loan, he will strive to do just that.
