My name is Isaac Abiaw and I was born in the year 1975. I come from Dadieso, a farming community in the western region of Ghana. I was born by parents whose occupation was mainly farming. After completing primary school, I had to walk three kilometers daily in order to attend senior high school at Enchi in 1994 because there was no high school located in my community. Because my parents were peasant farmers, I always went to the farm with them before l got money to pay my fees. Unfortunately, my father died before I completed secondary school.
But because I was determined to pursue my education, I worked extra hard to fund my education. I completed university in the year 2009. After completing school, I taught in private school until I decided to establish my own school to educate the less privileged since education was not given much attention in my community. Because of the challenges that I have gone through, my children want to learn hard and become self-employed so that they can help others to succeed in life. I enjoy reading story books as my hobby.
I established this private school with the intention of providing education to my community members. I first started this by visiting house to house to teach the pupils at their various homes and later raised some temporary structure for the pupils. The establishment of the school is useful and in demand because most community members are now willing to send their wards to school and also reduce the burden of travelling long to a nearby community before having access to formal education. The principal aim of establishing this business is to enable children to have access to formal education and to become useful citizens in the society. The only source of revenue is the fees paid by the students and the parents teacher association of the school. The profit accrued is used to add more classrooms and also cater for the workers.
Education is the principal key to success. In every community or country, education serves as the bedrock for development. In my community, unfortunately, many people did not have the opportunity to go through formal education as a result of poverty, among other factors. If I am given this loan, I will use it to purchase more chairs to augment the existing ones that I have already bought. The aim of doing this is to give opportunity to more pupils who have attained school-going age to have access to formal education.
When I am able to enroll more pupils, I will get more to pay for my staff, provide the basic needs for my family, and also pay back my loan.
