About Me

My name is Owusu Juliana. I am from Ghana, West Africa. I am a business woman in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. In this memo, I am going to tell you little bit about my background, interests, achievements and my goals.

Background
I was born in a big town called Kumasi. The calculated flying distance from Accra to Kumasi is equal to 125 miles which is equal to 202 km. If you want to go by car, the driving distance between Accra and Kumasi is 254.61 km. If you ride your car with an average speed of 112 kilometers/hour (70 miles/h), travel time will be 02 hours 16 minutes.

Kumasi is one of the largest towns in Ghana. And it's rich in culture. Kumasi is a famouse city because of the Ashanti Kingdom. I spent my first 20years of life in Kumasi.
My everyday activities included trading, listening to news, watching television, and going to temple at the night time.
I spend my first 20 years of life in Kumasi before moving here in Accra, on August 23, 2002 with my family. I started my rubber business 5 years after I have moved to Accra. I joined The Church Of Pentecost, Mallam Assembly in Accra, till date, I am committed member.

Interests
I like playing listening to news, and watching of Nigerian movies during my leisure time.I always enjoyed listening to gospel music. Growing up as a child and until now, (my adulthood) it has been mine (my) and my parents dream for me to become a Doctor or an Engineer, but because of financial difficulty, I ended up being a business woman, such is life. I completed Senior High School.

Achievements:
I have achieved many different goals in life. Some of my achievements are bigger than the others, which has given me greater satisfaction. The top five achievements that gave me the greatest personal satisfaction includes:
1. Getting married at the age of 28 years
2. Establishing my own rubber bowls business
3. Being a mother of 3 beautiful girls
4. Sending my children to school, my first child has graduated university
5. Accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal savior (being a Christian)
My achievements have helped me to get ahead in life.
Goals

I hope to get better managing my rubber bowls business. Five years from now, I want to become a big time business woman. I want to open five (5) different branches in Accra and Kumasi. I also want to better my English language and if possible, learn French.

Thank you

My Business

As the plastic industry evolves I continue to partner with my clients, collaboratively developing solutions that are safe, sustainable and competitive. A lot may have changed since I began my rubber business 15 years ago, however many of my customers still remember my founding motto, "cheap things are very expensive". I only deal in quality products.

Over the years successful delivery of quality plastic or rubber products has continued to be at the core of my business. A culture of collaboration plays a great part. Working closely with my customers, I have been to leverage my operation mindset to develop practices that deliver safety, sustainability, expenditure, productivity and integrity measures.

I am committed to expanding my business to deliver fully integrated services and projects that add value for my customers, the companies that I purchase the plastic products from and the communities in which I work.

My Upstream Way
As I started my plastic business in the year 2004, I built the business upon a strong foundation of core values that guide my operation and underpin my overaching goals:
1. Provision of quality plastic products
2. My customers are my focus
3. My employees are my most significant asset
4. A commitment to innovation and quality
5. I will always act with honesty and integrity
6. Respect for the community and environment

Since my business' inception I have had a history of moving with the plastic industry and my customers. Today my business is doing well by the grace of God.
