My name is Mary Okai. I am 45 years of age. I live in Madina, opposite assemblies of God church. I attended little angels primary school in lagos-Nigeria,and i attended Girls Academy for my secondary school education.I got married to a Ghanaian and moved to Ghana.
I see moving to Ghana as a blessing because when i got here i knew nothing about my surroundings. I quickly familiarized myself with the environment and made friends with people. Then I looked for the quickest business i could venture into which could both be lucrative and less tiring.Thats when i started buying goods to resell.
Ghana has a lot of tourist sites, and the people are very simple and hospitable. This kind of warm reception made me decide to live in Ghana permanently.
I have five children;3 girls and 2 boys.My first daughter wants to be a computer scientist,my other two daughters want to be doctors and my sons want to be lawyers.
When i have nothing doing i enjoy braiding my daughters' hair, and baking pastries for my family.
I buy and resell kitchen appliances and utensils. These goods are high in demand because they are mostly bought by women and students in the hostel.I chose this business because if the right capital is invested in it it could be very lucrative.
I normally use $500 to buy and when i resell i get a profit between $200 and $250 I use my revenue to help my husband in taking care of the children, and providing certain household needs.I then use the rest to repurchase my goods to resell.
I will use the money to buy appliances like blenders and rice cookers. Each blender costs $18 so I can buy 5 pcs for the start. This will increase my weekly profit margins since I have more customers to serve and also help my family a lot in terms of profit .
I reduce the stress of workers and students because i go to their offices and their schools to deliver the goods they request for. This benefits both me and and the people around me because i get my money as soon as i deliver the goods.
I expect to make 20% profit on each good I sell,so if I am granted this loan i expect to be able to pay back and get something to repurchase more goods.
