About Me

My name is humphery, i have a family of six brothers and two sisters. I come from labadi in accra. I have a block making business in front of my house. I have 2 workers who i pay by day. I went to school up to jhs and did not continue because of lack of money. But i want to help my small brothers and sisters to go to school to a high level. So i pay all the school fees for them and sometimes buy books too. School education is very expensive in this Ghana. i use most of my money to pay it. But i like doing it. Our father and mother are passed away for some time now. My other senior brothers are working in the cold store to sell fish. We all combine and look after the small ones.

My Business

I have a block making business in labadi, accra. Just infront of my house. I have 2 machines so far. Plenty people are building in accra so the business is good. Everybody needs blocks to build their house. Every day i buy 6 bags of cement, some sand and a barrel of water to make like about 240 blocks. With my two machines and two operators, who i pay 30 ghana cedis each. i use roughly 200 ghana cedis everyday and about 1000 in a week. One block is 1.7 ghana cedis so i make about 350-400 ghana cedis every day and about 1700 ghana cedis in a week. I take out the cost of materials for the next day, and i have some to save. The business is good in my area because there are many people building here. And if they finish building i can take the machines to another area. I plan to buy more machines to add and become big.

Loan Proposal

I want this zidisha loan to add to my money and buy more materials for the business. So that i can get more money, use some for school fees and save more for more machines. When i buy more machines i will be able to make more blocks and get more money and buy another machine. So that if i have five machines i can supply more blocks to all the areas. The business is good so i can pay back all my money quickly and i plan to invite my other friends too to benefit like me. God bless zidisha

    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am Zidisha Country Expansion Coordinator for Ghana. I have noticed that after repaying the first loan installments, Mr Addo has accumulated some arrears. I am trying to contact him and understand if he is experiencing some difficulties with his business. Yet, so far I was unable to reach him, but I will keep on trying and share with you any update.

Mr Addo, please let us know how your business is going and how we can assist you in regards to your loan repayment. Remember that you can always contact Zidisha by sending an email at service@zidisha. org.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Roberta
