About Me

I am Fred Ocholla Owino, I live in Eldoret Kenya. Eldoret is in Uashin Gishu County, Rift Valley province. Eldoret is a cosmopolitan town but with a large population of Kalenjins who are the natives. I am a sales person by profesion, I graduated with a Diploma in sales and Marketing from the Kenya Institute of Management.
I started a cleaning business where we offer cleaning services for example cleaning house items like floor carpets and seats for residents. I was driven to start this business because as a child growing up, one of my house chores was cleaning the carpets. So I know how to handle carpets so I saw this as an opportunity to start a business. I started with a few neighbours and now my services have grown. I have also hired the services of two assistants.
The cleaning industry is and I have a goal to go into office space cleaning services. I recently bought a vacuum cleaner that has really helped enhance our services. Unfortunately the single vacuum cleaner we have is some times over worked. I am looking for ways of buying another vacuum cleaner to save the situation.

My Business

I offer cleaning services for house items especially the floor carpets and the seats. Carpets and seats are items mostly found in the living area of households. Owners of these items always go out of their way to ensure that these items are clean as these items speak loads about the host. Since no host wants to create the wrong impression on their visitors, they hire the services of cleaners. This is where we come in. This has without a doubt driven up the demand for our services especially on the weekends. When the demand is high the profits will definitely be soaring up. The running costs of this business are quite low and therefore we maximize on the profits. We have no real competition as we are the first to offer these kinds of services around this neighborhood. I can say we are enjoying monopoly.
This business is facing no risks so far. My typical costs include costs of detergents, wages and transport that on average come to US$300. My income revenue monthly on average come to US$ 700. After making all the deductions I am left with profits of about US$400. I am already saving for a new vacuum cleaner and therefore the loan will help a great deal in coming up with the remaining part of the money required. With the additional vacuum cleaner we will be able to take in more work that will translate into more profits, therefore repaying the loan will not be a problem.

I am excited to have made it this far and I have a feeling that this is the beginning of great things to come. I run a cleaning business that is profit and promises to do more. In my cleaning business we offer cleaning of house items like floor carpets and seats. These items attract fine dust that can only be removed by a vacuum cleaner. We already have one vacuum cleaner but it is overwhelmed. I have to acquire a new vacuum cleaner as soon as possible. This will help increase the quality of service given to our highly esteemed clients thus attracting new clients and increasing our profitability. Thank you in advance.
