About Me

I am Linet Chepkorir, a determined lady currently a student at the University of Nairobi. I am a second year student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. My home is Keringet, Kuresoi District, and Nakuru County. I received my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education from Keringet Boarding Primary in 2006 and later joined Roret Girls High School where I sat for my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in 2010. I managed to join the University of Nairobi in 2012. I come from a single parent family under the care of my mother, having separated with when I was young. Despite all that, we have pushed on with life without many problems.

My Business

Life while in campus, being in Nairobi – one of the hardest places to live in, in the region, has taught me a lot. The challenges I go through have challenged me to think hard about financial independence and stop depending entirely on my mother and my other siblings. This thought has pushed me to do business in campus. I sell fashions products to students taking advantage of the fashion trendy students. I majorly dwell in ladies’ handbags, shoes and other ladies’ clothes. I do this in their hostels after classes but others have my contacts and can easily call me or come to my room for a wide selection. I get at least Sh. 20000 per month as profit from this business. As a student, this is independence. I will be clearing campus by the end of the year, and I am planning to have a stall of my own in town where I can reach other people. I will use the Zidisha loans to add more stock and help me meet my goal of having my own shop by the end of the year. Thank you.

Loan Proposal

I wish to thank the Zidisha team for giving me this opportunity. I am grateful and will always cooperate to the terms and conditions. As stated earlier, I do my business in school as I study. In line with my goal of being financially independent, I see this as an opportunity to grow and expand my business. I will be through with campus by the end of this year and I won’t be able to do business here anymore. With that, I want to be having my own business premise before the year ends. I will use my first loan to add to my stock: mainly ladies’ shoes, clothes and bags I believe with my determination, I will have grown and attained my goal by the end of the year. Thank you.
