About Me

I am a small-scale retailer and a part-time teacher at Mugaa Secondary School. I sell basic household things such as sugar, flour, salt, tea, etc. My business on average generates KShs 5,000 ($48 USD) in profit. I wish to expand the business so that it generates more profit to support my family. I get my stock from Nakuru town. We run this business with my wife, who attends to customers when I am teaching. My goal is to have a large shop so that I satisfy my customers and support my family.

During my free time, I like travelling and visiting places, listening to music, and watching movies. I have attended and completed college, but I have not yet gotten a meaningful job because there are few jobs in Kenya.

My Business

My shop is located in Kianjoya Shopping Centre, just adjacent to Kianjoya Primary School. I combine my small salary from teaching and the profit I generate from the business to support both my family and my younger siblings. My parents are old and rely on me and my other elder sister, who is married and lives far away. So I do not really manage to save a lot, but if I get a loan, I believe I will increase the stock so that I can get more profit to support my family accordingly. The more I expand the business, the more customers I will get and retain. I want my business to be stable and growing. In the future, I hope I can expand the business to even become a wholesaler.

Loan Proposal

First of all i want to thank zidisha lenders for giving me the first loan that i have happily completed. I want a second loan of 50$ so that I buy two bags of maize meal floor to sell to local households. I want to target this season of low maize production. there is a very high demand for maize floor around and my current savings are too little to help me add maize floor to my shop. Thank you so much zidisha lenders.

The maiin reason for reducing my installment amount is due to the economic ctisis that we have been experincing over the last few months leading to low money circulation. If there would be an improvement then I will obviously increase the installment amount. Thanks in advance.

I managed to purchase 10 bags of maize each of90 kilograms and milled them for sale to my neighbours. I really scooped enough profit as maize flour was in high demand.

I enjoy my holidays with my family members as well ad visiting my neighbours. Thanks in advance.

I am glad to inform the lenders that the loan has been of great value in my business. It has aided in boosting my sales through incresed stock as well as increase in profit margin. This has really helped in raising the standards of living as well as that of my family. I will be glad if you offer me yet another loan to venture more into business. Thanks in advance.

I managed to construct a semi permanent store whose capacity is 150 bags of cereals. I have so far stocked it with 100 bags of maize which I wish to sell at a profit in June when the supply will be low and thus demand for flour will be high. Thanks for your continued financial support.

My gratitude to all the lenders and the entire Zidisha team for your continued financial support. I have already sold the cabbages that i planted in the previous season using the money from the previous loan. The profit generated from the same is KES. 35000 of which will greatly assist me in another investment or increase the stock in my retail shop. I would like to get another loan to assist me in the project described above. It will be my great pleasure if the loan is funded soonest possible before the start of the El nino rains so as to ensure that my cow gets a better place to dwell especially over that period. Thanks a lot and God bless you abundantly.
