I have form level of education.I started this business as a source of income after looking for jobs which I couldn’t find I started so that I can earn a living and support my young family. The income i get from my business helps me support my family and my siblings in school.

My Business

I offer transport of persons with a motor bike its called "boda boda" where you charge people to move them in the streets of ongata rongai. there is high demand for this services as its cheaper and convenient to move people even in foot paths in the interior parts where vehicles cant go.Customers prefer me because i know the routes and i have a better bike than other operators. the cost of running this business is very low making it very profitable.I earn about 15-20000 which I use 2000 for servicing my bike I pay rent of 3000 and feeding my family 5000 and I save the rest for future development

    Hello Lenders,

My name is Vivien Barbier and I’m one of the Zidisha’s current client relationship interns for Kenya. Today I visited Benson and his business.

Benson is a young entrepreneur married with an also entrepreneur wife. While he is running his transport business, his wife is running her own shop.
Benson received the loan last month and he is planning to buy the new motorbike in about two weeks combining his personal saving to the Zidisha loan. With this new motorbike, he will be able to extend the business by having another driver using the “old” motorbike. The additional driver will then keep a fixed daily salary and the rest of the money will help Benson to reimburse the loan and grow the business.

About 20 clients per week, but it vary from week to week. In the future, Benson wants to be able to buy a car to launch a taxi business, but cars are much more expensive than motorbike.

He is a very dynamic person and wants to growth its business in profitable area. I’m sure that the next time I need a ride to Nairobi I will give him a call.
