About Me

I am married and blessed with four children. I live in Githurai progressive and I have been selling second hand goods on the street of Nairobi hence the profit was not enough to support what my husband was earning to ensure good life for our children thus I decided to venture into poultry business so that we can have enough money to send our children to university when they complete their secondary education. The poultry business has been doing well hence I want now also to start the keeping the poultry for eggs. The loan will be used to purchase chicks and feeds.

My Business

I keep chicken for meat and the demand is high because very few people are involved in the business. I also have good relation with local hotels where I supply them with meat. Customers prefer my business because of good relation and good prices I offer. My business risk losing customers because it's not diversified because most of the clients also wants eggs from my business thus with the zidisha loan, I will be in position to meet the customers demand hence more profit.
Average monthly sales is Kshs 66000 and average costs are Kshs 50000 hence the profit is Kshs 16000. Through the zidisha loan, I will be in position to start keeping chicks for eggs hence increasing monthly profit.
I have already constructed the structure for the layers so what is remaining is to purchase chicks and the feeds thus kindly request Zidisha lenders to support me accomplish this project and I will ensure to repay my loan on time as agreed.

Loan Proposal

I want to expand my business by keeping more chicken hence more profit thus the loan will be used to expand my business through using Kshs 5000 to purchase chicks while the Kshs 3000 plus the other savings to purchase more chicken feeds thus expanding my business. I kindly request you to contribute towards my loan and I will ensure loan repayment is as stated and also will keep you posted on how business is progressing. Thanks

    Hi,

I’m Naroa Zurutuza, Zidisha’s Client Relationship Manager in Kenya. In my last visit to Githurai Progressive I had the pleasure to meet Cecilia Wanjeri, she hosted me with a smile in her face.

Mrs. Wanjeri’s business consists in the poultry business; she grows chicken to afterwards sell them.

When I visited her, she has just newly purchased 200 small chickens in her place. She used her first Zidisha loan to buy some equipment (the place has to be illuminated the whole day, thus, lamps are needed) and part of the food required to feed them (they it 24hrs so a large amount of food is necessary).
Taking into account the cost of buying the chickens and maintaining them for 6 weeks before selling them in local markets, her monthly profits is of around 15000KSH.

In the future, she would like to both start growing chicken for eggs and start purchasing rabbits (right now she only has a couple of them that she uses to feed her family).

I wish you all the best luck,

    Naroa Zurutuza

    Dear Zidisha Members,
Am currently hospitalized because I fell and broke my hand thus most of the proceeds from my business is being channeled through to meet my hospital expenses thus not in a position to repay the loan now but I will ensure to repay the loan after am from the hospital.

It's unfortunate that it has happened on me but I will work hard to ensure the loan is repaid on time hence facilitating other people to benefit.
