    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha. Within this role, I am coordinating the Zidisha's MPESA team, responsible for processing loan repayments and disbursements.

Today, while reviewing our accounts, I noticed that a loan repayment of 2,060 KES (24.59 USD) sent by Mr Mahugu on June, 11 was not registered in his repayment schedule which has been updated accordingly.

Mr mahugu, we are sorry for this inconvenience and we wish you all the best with your business!

    Best regards,

    Roberta

Greetings lenders! My name is Neil DiMuccio, and I am a Client Relationship Manager with Zidisha in Kenya. I am currently visiting borrowers to learn more about them and support them with their Zidisha loans. It is my hope that this work will build bridges to better connection and understanding, and that Zidisha and its borrowers will increasingly grow, communicate, and support each other.

My fellow Zidisha colleague Shen and I recently had the opportunity to meet with Francis in his woodworking shop named MetalWood Fabircators in Kayole, a quiet suburb of Nairobi on the far northeastern edge of the city. Francis was very excited to meet with us. After giving us large Stoneys (a very sweet ginger-based soda popular in Kenya), we proceeded to talk about him and his business for quite some time. Francis was very affable and open to our questions. After getting to know him a bit, we took a stroll to the neighborhood cybercafé, where I gave Francis a New Borrower Orientation, since he is somewhat new to the Zidisha platform. I believe Francis greatly enjoyed this Orientation, as we took close to an hour to really explain all the details, options, and benefits of being a productive and communicative member of the Zidisha community.

After this, we returned to Francis’ shop, where he explained that Zidisha provided an invaluable service, given the high interest rates, fees, and rigidity of other local lending options, which Francis had participated in before Zidsiha.

Francis mentioned that his wife was a bit unhappy when she heard how small the first Zidisha loan would be, and argued that the family should look elsewhere. Francis was adamant, however, that they should capitalize on Zidisha’s low interest rates, and convinced her to pursue the loan knowing future loans would be larger with prompt repayment. His wife has since come around to his side, and they look forward to the future with Zidisha!

Best wishes, Francis! Thanks again for meeting with me and Shen and showing us a great time.
