About Me

My names are Kennedy Alusa Id number 8478196. I was born in Kisii town. I am second born and I have 4 siblings. I am a graduate from Egerton University with a degree in livestock breeding. I am the one who educates my siblings as my parents are too old and they don’t have formal employment and all my siblings are in school. My two brothers are in kibirigwi high school. One joined form one this year and the other is in form two. Due to unemployment I decided to utilize my livestock degree by rearing rabbits for commercial purposes and already the business is doing great.

My Business

I had a passion for rearing rabbits since I was a small boy I grew up from the countryside on my grandmother’s farm. Now that I have a degree from that field my business is thriving on excellent measures. I get huge orders from clients both locally and now with a zidisha loan I will expand my business and take internationally as I have been getting large orders especially to Ghana but due to my limited funds I cannot manage it. The challenges in this business are animal diseases which attack the rabbits but once I get a loan I will be able to vaccinate the rabbits and keep them out of danger. I am above my competition because my customers trust my products quality and also I deliver on time without failure not forgetting the good relationship I have with them. I sell 1kg of rabbit meat at ksh870 and its hide(used for leather) at ksh350 for a fully grown rabbit making about ksh38,000 per month and a incurring a cost of ksh8,000 per month.
